Man id love to have the patience for all that detail! Great work paint is top notch . Many skills you have dude
Very nice level of finish on everything and doing it proper which I like to see!!! If only I had access to the tools and materials you do
Where you used box section across the front member, what method are you using to bolt the tension rod brackets to the front member?
I welded nut into it to bolt those on, I have the nismo power brace so was easier see where the put them then if I had the two separate brackets
Very clean build mate, good work. And I like the fact you're building things like catch tanks and doing your own hoses. How are you finding making the braided hoses, ok? Using proper tools for it or what, and where are you getting the fittings from? Also, what size line are you using for the oil cooler lines, AN8 or AN10? Reason I ask I've got AN8 fittings on my Laminova, and the take off plate I'm looking to buy also comes with AN8, but not sure if I need to upgrade or not. Cheers
Ah ok! You think if I welded box section across mine I could bolt the standard brackets straight through the box section?
thanks bud, the hoses are easy to make but obviously i haven't been able to test them yet so i don know if they will leak, but its quite simple this is how to do it: but i just used a hack saw and i didn't have a clamp just used a vice. i used an10 on all the stuff as the thermo sandwich plate and oil cooler were both an10 and the internal diameter was the closest match to the factoy breathers on the cam covers. i think an8 would be fine for oil cooling an10 might be a bit of an over kill. i got the stuff from china off ebay, a shop called mighty1bay if i went for aeroquip i would have spent a small fortune, there stuff isn't too bad for cheap Chinese crap. what are you useing a Laminova on interesting way to cool your oil, i dont see many aftermarket one fitted to car. don't see why not but also keep in mind there are two holes that the radiator mount in so you will need make those or come up with anouther way to mount it.
Ah I've seen that video before! I've done normal hoses before but not AN style .... got quite a few to do so thinking of doing them myself. I'm using a Laminova as I've had one before and they are very good pieces of kit. They are expensive, but I managed to get a big one cheap 2nd hand, it's the equivalent of a 19+ row oil cooler. There are a load of benefits to using one over a normal cooler, mainly the regulation of oil/water temps, oil gets up to temp quicker, prevents over-cooling of oil, more compact installation, low risk of damage as it doesn't need to be in an airstream etc. The only problem is price, £200-250+ for a one! It's going on a lexus v8.
Yeah. Figured I'd bolt a manual box on and go have some fun in the skyline, then decide what to do for more power. Either low boost it or a big sniff of nitrous. But that's a while off yet!
This is the most amazing diy build of a 200sx I've come across! Taking a little bit of inspiration for my build and getting my CA looking better
Fit a threaded bung at one end, attach the other end to a compressor, put it under water and pressurise.
