Is 18 late to be getting into racing, shows, and drifting?

I'm extremely new to the concept of drifting. I've only ever ran quarter mile races. I'm in a 1991 Ford Mustang 5.0 HO GT Convertible, which I know I can't drift in. I'm planning to sell the mustang to buy a 1980s Datsun 280zx. I know for sure I'll need to replace the axles and suspension, I was wondering what advice anyone had.

18 is far to old to begin thinking about doing somthing slightly different from what you are doing now . Think of your potential kids and how this decision will affect them . So selfish

18!? Most people can't afford to start drifting at that age, your well ahead of the game already.

The only thing 18 is too old for is fucking 15 year olds

I know youre in the States but when you can only start driving at 17 here in the UK, retiring at 18 is unlikely ;)

I wouldn't be able to if I hadn't fixed the mustang up. It's in good condition to sell for around 5-7k, bought it for 1.5k and put about 1k into it.
