well its been a while since i did a build thread.
my name is Robert and on and off over the last year and half with help of a few people i have been building a 300zx z32 with a m62b44.
since i broke my s14a a few years ago after abusing it in a trip to Portugal. i always fancied a 300zx and decided to go for it.

    my old s14a

so time for the new car managed to pick it for for £400 with tax an mot , soon had the engine ripped out and fitted to a manual box in my dads 300zx as his had a oil problem

after placing the engine in and struggling to get it where i wanted it and the mrs dropping the bombshell that she was pregnant. decisions had to be made and a few phonecalls were placed and a trip to the lads at team sunset was arranged to speed up the build.

so i borowed a trailer and nicked one of the company cars for the weekend and set off

a week later it was ready another late night trip and it was back home. unfortunatly due to the mrs being pregnant and us buying a house i decided to move out my workshop. so with only a week before i left a temp space frame front end was made and the tunnel was fabricated thanks to a friend. the 300zx was the moved to my partners parents front garden :( where it sat for a while .

after viewing norfys build thread i contacted him and he agreed to make the conversion loom for me :D
i set about doing a few jobs that i was capable of doing my self :)

few weeks passed and my loom returned so norfy and i set about getting it started
as usual the day he come to help it was pissing it down. so a quick bodge cover was in need ...

    it was finally alive

a few past and the birth of my daughter forced the 300zx to take a back seat

finally i took a few days off work and decided to give it some attention
    [IMG]

decided i need to start getting the important bits done so ordered a stage 3 5paddle clutch and some x5 headers and sent the car to have its custom downpipes made and manifolds modified as they hit everywhere..
off to my friend Mike Walton (Walton fabrication)

and these bad boys were done

then i found my self with some spare time so decided to rip out the engine and box fit the clutch repaint the hole engine bay paint the underside also fit some goodies

got my self pair of gtr-d for the rear :o

    may need some work
    [IMG]

so here is where i am, waiting on the brake lines as i ripped out all the pedals and fitted a pedal box.
cleaned and primered some of the inside
    [IMG]

    had a little helper
    [IMG]

a week off next week should see it down on the ground and maybe just maybe moving fingers crossed

    all coments welcome.

What made you pull the original engine and use the BM engine bud?

Very cool. Really like this idea. Seems to fit in really well too! Please keep at it.

sooo bit of an update ..

car is now on the ground, had 2 failed test drives , first due to flat tyres :( second due to me being an idiot and not putting a jubilee clip on one of the rad pipes ..

few more bits of wiring to do . new fans need doing and so does the brake pressure switch as well as move indicators into the head lights and get bumper fitted properly.
