Here some pics on the progress Wink mirror installed Then I took it to work 1 week and the radiator neck broke while in traffic and she left me stranded Car got parked for about 6 months as I was petty pissed. But then I got my self a nice alum version Still need to install the fan and low temp switch Pics of the old radiator Installed with cable ties lol
MOAR !!! Silicone radiator hoses Bmw drift style steering wheel Hood pins. Toe strap. Black kidney grilles and over spray removal Strip interior tons of human slime Light weight pulleys Tachometer and clock installed Interior strip Sunroof removal. Welded in a piece of sheet or roof from an old accord Then this happened so Monday its going for rear passengers and rear windscreen Windows. Be front coil overs installed Hell yeah getting there.
Haha yeah that cat is the neiborhood terrorist !!! Well the ricer tachometer is flippin awesome. Once I replace the bushes and put in the rear coil overs it should be a totally different car
Lol Mirrors. Sunroof removal. Door pin straps. Door wiring delete. Since my mirrors were really ruined I decided to try a different look and they are a tad lighter. New mirrors Custom plate Mirrors done Wiring delete on front doors Sunroof finally removed. Is damn heavy !!! Door pin straps. With the removal of the door cards the door pins tend to flop around so I did this. The straps installed A few snaps of the day with my new mirrors Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lexan Windows installed for rear windscreen. Rear quarter window and rear windows Taft were connected to the window mechanisms Roof sealed Yesterday was the first time I gave the car a rip and I can definitely feel the difference on pull off. I still have a lot of weight saving to do. So keen to see the final results Sent from my iPhone
Ok. So drop is completed !!! BC coil overs are really nice you can thread the shock body so your shocks become custom shortened shoxs The above reinforcements plates from axis. Really good quality and fit This is the lowest I could drop the car to. I think the issue why it won't go lower is because ther is no weight in the rear Rear door panel cut out for weight savings. I am only doing the rears as it weakens the door in a crash Brass bleeder screw To be installed on the next oil change Thanks for viewing
Nice to see a fellow South African that is into giraffes. Build is getting there. Nice work. Good choice on coil overs. Where will you be competing?
Haha thanks buddy much appreciated. I will probably be going to the rock. Nothing serious just for fun [emoji106]
Welded up the holes on the boot by making small plates Was bad like this on both sides final product. I didn't through much trouble here as I want to get a lighter trunk in the future Removed sound deadning from doors. It's so easy when there is no panels or mechanisms lol Washed the engine bay still looks dirty so next time I am going to use oven cleaner
where the windows hard to replace? just been looking at some and for all but the front windscreen its like £205
Hi peeps haven't updated in a while this is what I have been busy with so here it goes. I decided to remove the subframe to start the powerflex bushing install. And I will be replacing the gearbox guibo and center propshaft mount too. Here is the subframe being removed Tried burning out the bushings but that didn't work lol So then made a plan and with a prothane plumber torch I removed them. Basically I heated the metal around the bushing and used the following with the racket gun. It took me 10min per bushing Bearing puller Threaded rod Thick washers and bolts Ratchet gun - awesome tool Sockets Squarebar with a hole Holesaw with drill bit removed Prothane plumbers tourch Spanners Rear diff bush Subframe bushes Rear bush Front bush Here is why I was getting a knock we tapping the accelerator lol this was the diff bushing on the subframe So the awesomeness begins Here is my trailing arm bushing this is why you should check your cars suspension every so often More updates soon Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok so this weekend felt a bit lazy but still did some stuffs. Was time to remove my old diff and investigate as it had a bit of a leak. The diff u removed was a 3.46 ratio So my drift spec diff was prepared for R300 it is a 3.64 till I find a 3.91 80w90 oil was used Powerflex diff bushings installed Also decided to check the condition of the subframe pins and found that they were actually loose. This is what I am referring to. Basically from the drive terrain in the rear I can see that the following issues this car had Loose subframe pins Missing 1 side of the swaybar Worn rear shocks Left hub had 2 Brocken bolts in it Damaged side shaft Damaged guibo Damaged center bearing Brocken engine mount bracket Rear trailing arm damaged bushing exposed Ripped bushes on 2 of the 3 diff bushes OEM subframe, shock, diff and arm bushes had become soft Rear ball joints badly worn Inner bush on on the one trailing arm had come out I can't wait to get this car on the road again with all these worn/damaged parts replaced Just waiting on my trailing arm as I cannot continue further Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
