This is true Daniel .. so old that you now find it confusing that a stills camera can shoot upside down.

Dragging this thread up to the here and now people, I need help.

Just discovered the old man has been harboring this for the last god knows how long:

Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM - Telephoto zoom - Canon UK

I don't think it's ever been used!?! Shall I bother to bring it with to Mallory or just slap it on the old ebay???

    Cheers,

    Sam -

that 75-300 is great for track pics as it gives you the zoom to get really close mid drift and its got a usm so really fast focusing

these are took on the same lense just without the usm

if you can afford L series glass then the canon F4 L 70-200mm is well worth paying that little bit extra for. i shot this on a 7D with the canon F4 L 70-200mm and x1.4 teleconvertor

My tamron 70-300 lens is playing up, it sometimes gives me this message 'Err 01 Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts'
I have a Canon 450D, I've tried cleaning the lens contacts but nothing seems to help. This doesnt happen with my other lens that came with it.

Also, I want to get a 50mm lens, but im confused between the 50mm 1.8 II and the 50mm 1.4
Theres a £200 difference and the pictures arent much different, can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks :)

The pictures are very different from what I have seen assuming you are talking about the Canon f1.4 and f1.8... Have you looked at back to back reviews?
The 1.4 is a good lens, and is the best value for money lens I have seen in a while

nifty 50 is a good lense for the price it is but likes beens said you will notice the difference due to the quality of components used

    took with the £90 50mm
the quality aint great but id only been using the lense for 5 mins lol

I've bought the canon 50mm 1.8 for my 550d. All my shots from the the recent day at crail were taken using it as I didn't see much point swapping to the kit lense. All the pics have been cropped quite a lot as well due it being such a short lense but really pleased with how they came out. First time taking any moving shots.
