I picked up an Impreza L May 2010 and was inspired to do a SR20DET swap because i love the motor and love the look of a nice 2dr GC8. This car surely has come a long way from when i first got it...I also purchased a parts car within a week of getting the shell. The car started off to be a slap-n-go project just to beat up and drift, but then turned into a all out competitive drift machine that can compete with some of the best car builders out there. This car is being built now at Duncan Motors in Vallejo, CA.
(parts car is the cleaner one of course).

^^^Finished product. Went with a metallic forest green color. What we had was several different shades of green then mixed them all in one can and it came out with this. The pictures dont do the paint justice. Once this is buffed out and i get a better photographer (other than myself) then you will see the true color.

I am now working on finishing the wiring, making a custom tubular crossmember to sit the motor back and down a bit, STI brembo 5x114.3 conversion, and waiting on all my cooling parts to come in from Mishimoto. The turbo kit is now on and will be posted very soon. After the pics are posted of the turbo/cooling parts installed then a video will shot of the first start up. Please stick with this build and follow it. A lot of craftsmanship, effort, heartache, and time has been put into this. Thanks and stay tuned

Welcome fella. I found your build on another site when I was looking for SR20'd Imprezas. No reason. Not that I have a dead engined 95 RA sat at the unit. Not at all.

    Update #2:
This is where the car stands as of today (9/11/11)
It has been a long journey...now i know you guys are still asking (is it running?)...to answer your question...not officially haha. wiring is 100% done and engine cranks. the only reason i haven't started it is because i dont want to make the intercooler piping before we make the crossmember. The car is about to go out to Cortex Racing at Infineon Raceway to begin the tubular crossmember and custom bump-steer rods. Then you will see the car work/drive, but since paint i have managed to put the turbo setup on, order 06 STI hubs/brakes so i could eliminate the hub adapters, and also pick up a some 500 Series Fortune-Auto Coilovers. Be patient you guys. She is making steady progress. Now on for the pictures...

thank you. tubular crossmember is next on the list. then i will post a quality video of the first start up. Also by then the fenders will be mounted. please forgive the downtime on the project. i need to wait for the shop to free up space. i'm hoping things will progress within the next month or shorter.

    Update #3:
This is where the car stands as of today (11/22/11)
This past week has been non-stop. This week was dedicated strictly to finishing the crossmember for proper engine placement. We moved the motor 2inch back and 1inch down from the original fitment. We ended up managing to make the stock steering rack work with the new crossmember aswell, however we had to make completely custom mounts and mounting brackets which came out even better then I believed they could. Tomorrow we will start on the transmission mount then on to the exhaust and intercooler piping. The cage will also be re-done to 1 3/4inch tubing and built to SCCA Spec (It will still be a drift car just different spec cage). Stay tuned. I can see the first start-up happening soon. And also contact me if you're interested in the BEST quality roll-cage you can get in Northern California.

This crossmember is one hell of a piece. We actually kind of tested it with a porta-power to see if it would hold and the porta-power actually started leaking fluid and couldn't pump out any more pressure to it. I couldn't be happier with the way it came out. I hope to keep you guys intrigued as the build goes on. Thank you
