    Hey Dudes and Dudettes :euge:

My private number plate is stuck on my G40 and I want to transfer it on to my new car on the weekend

My G40 has no MOT as it has been off the road for a year now... Does it have to have MOT for me to be able to transfer the plate onto my new car?

    All help appreciated

Your car does not need a current MOT to get the plate off, doesn't need to be taxed either. As long as the car is SORN and has been for 1 year or less you can remove the plate.

FYI... I did this today and the car doesn't need MOT or tax as it was SORN under 12 months :)

The car you're taking the plate from DOESN'T if SORN under 12 months, obviously the car you are transferring it too does
