The car runs 1.2 to 1.25kg boost and has been mapped by Gary at APT. It has been dyno’ed at Emerald at 323 BHP and 308 ft/lbs torque. Gary has done most of the modifications since the mapping including the brakes, suspension and other handling related stuff – he did a full set up of the suspension etc at the end of last year. This is also when the ECV was fitted – it's a bit of a gimmick but is great fun and makes the noise from the Blitz much more bearable on the motorway ;-)

I would say that the car is in very good condition all round, some would say immaculate - but I’m very detail conscious. There are a few minor stone chips and minor imperfections but less than would be expected for a car of this age and mileage.

All-in-all it would make a really good basis for someone looking to either buy a very usable, rapid car as-is or to spend the little bit extra required to take it up to circa 370 bhp (£700 turbo from APEX). With not much more work than that you could be running over 400 bhp on it – most of the expensive stuff is already there!

Downsides? There are only two I can think of. The VVT rattles a bit at tick-over, but not all the time, this is a common thing on S14's most of them do it to some degree - it clears above 1100 rpm. Also the gearbox is a little noisy – has been since the Exedy clutch and flywheel and B&M were fitted. I don’t think it’s getting any worse but this was going to be the next thing that Gary was going to sort out for me with one of his £500 recon boxes.

I’ve had the car since 2001 when it had done 24k miles. Since then, no expense has been spared and, given its relatively low state of tune, this car has probably had more money spent on it than most. I’d say that the modifications have cost me around £15,000, possibly more eek.

So why am I selling? To be honest, I’m not really sure that I want to sell but having two kids means I need a more family friendly car. I have nowhere to store the 200 to use it as a plaything (plus I’ve got two motorbikes already so that wouldn’t go down well with the home secretary) so it’s got to go!

This car is also for sale on the SXOC where I have more track record in terms of posts etc. I'm open for sensible offers around 7,500 for the car as I've put a deposit on an oil-burner today so it's got to go. This car is genuinely quick - faster than the new shape M3 for example - and can put a BIG smile on your face.

    Drop me a line if you're interested:thumbs:
