I have sold 1000's of Rota wheels of all sizes all over Europe and have sponsored a fair few race cars and several drift cars. I have only ever had 2 problems and both were laquer problems from the same batch of wheels. Both wheels were replaced with full sets free of charge by the Uk distributor - no other wheel company is as well represented in this country and certainly do not go as far as Rota to fix any issues in a timely and reliable manner.
Rota UK put all other wheel distributors over here to shame!
Driftworks have a great reputation when it comes to selling parts so basically, what I'm saying is you should buy Rota's... and you should buy them from Driftworks.

As above Sammy, they're painted. :)

The Rota breaking thing is just internet bollocks as usual, want me to find a photo of a Dymag million billion pound wheel that's broken? Wheels do break when you crash, or ram brake calipers into them, or slam into kerbs, etc.

Thats cool guys. Like I said i know it may sound very silly but I obviously want to make assure they will be safe.

Lastly, Whats the centre bore for a set of Rota Torques? Will I need spigot rings for me to fit on my rx7 FD? Although I am thinking of running 20mm bolt on spacers all round, would the centre bore of these match the wheels?

you would need a spigot ring to fit your spacer and the spacer to fit the mazda hub. They are different sizes, but i can't remember which way round, but thats something DW or Rota can sort out for you at the time.

The coloured wheels on the Rota site are anodised, which is done using electrolsis rather than heat. If you mean red and blue, the rest are painted, which will in no way harm or damage a wheel, infact, the opposite, it protects the metal from the elements.

Also, the majority of wheels that break randomly are out of date magnesium alloy, which has a limited lifespan before they go brittle. They cost a fortune to buy and im sure lot of GTR owners running hideously expensive limited edition wheels will call me a shit talker... simply because the wheels cost a lot.

It worries me that you have an FD with your history. no offence!

I will say, that if you have a Rota wheel with a polished lip, I've had two different sets both suffer from the laquer 'spidering' and then coming off from the lip. But other than that I think they're great for what you pay for them.

I've seen threads with pictures of broken Rotas but it always comes back to some underlying cause such as cheapy powder coating, impacts, rubbing, etc etc. This is the Internet, where there's always some bellend who is out to prove that something cheap = GOING TO KILL YOU

Fair enough. Ive seen people on here who might say that and mean it though ;)

I know a guy fairly high up at Middle Wallop who looks after the maintenance Army Lynxs ....... and has so much confidence in them that he refuses to travel in them. :D

He calls them The Westland Widowmaker. Why we didnt just use Huey's I'll never know. :smash:
