Hi everybody, I recently bought this 1990 mazda miata and have plans to drift it.

Took a look underneath and saw this on the frame rail (or whats left of it)

    Need opinons

Should I cut the rail out and weld in a new one? should I take it to get fixed somewhere? Should i just drift it as is?

Is it even safe to drift like this? because im ready to just send it as is

Car is pretty clean other than the frame rails

Phill from CarThrottle springs to mind!

If I saw that under my car, I'd probably give up on it

What do you think? You can see the sky through the floor.

Thats not worth paying someone to weld up, if you can do it yourself then crack on, but otherwise I'd be stripping that car and buying a clean one.

How did you miss that mess when you bought the car, it's completely fucked!
Can't have MOT on it surely?

What facilities do you have? Garage etc? Because with a bit of DIY Mig welding you could sort that out easily. If you work on car's and plan to drift on for a few years - A mig welder will be a total god send! Fixing rust - Making up brackets - Removing fucked bolts - Exhausts... the list goes on! So just food for thought if you want to make a little investment. I constantly use my mig welder - shame to see a good car just get scrapped over half a days fabrication! With practice you could make the rail look better than new :)
