Good Afternoon All, Some may know me for my S14 However I feel like I will be more known for what is about to come... The FD. The start of the story begins the day I cleared all debt I had accrued over 5 years building various cars and driving various cars. After such relief of having no financial strain I thought a quick browse through ebay could do no harm, oh how I was wrong. I found a 1JZ-GTE, supercharged RX7 FD3s that was only a few hours away... You know what happened next. As you can see... It wasn't exactly in great shape! Therefore I imagined some plans and put them on paper and searched the web hours on end... Resulting in more money spent! HSD Monopro's from driftworks (great service as per usual) Some SARD 840cc injectors Some Bride Rails AEM 330lbs fuel pump Precision Turbo Tial V60 wastegate And much more... And ended up with a big pile of parts to fit! - - - Updated - - - After coilovers and wheels were fitted.. A friend did some welding and fabrication for me on the manifold/wastegate and apexi adapter I cut the front end off Not much clearance under the hood Exhaust manifold hit on the engine mounts... Designed a intercooler and rad setup that I wanted to run
The intercooler The rad I also got a flange to be made up for the turbo I did some interior work this is how it looked. Cut the bonnet to fit Rear was lowered I started on the water neck Exhaust made up by a friend Aftermarket bonnets don't fit either. Rear difuser fitted, I drove it around Bought a real ECU http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/14/5aeb6add9da52e72e9a54d85aac05194.jpg 99 Spec front bumper bought Oh and I know big chunks of this project are missing... but I can't be bothered to re-upload all the photos... they can be found on facebook =) And a vid of it running ;P Finally the spec: - 1JZGTE engine from a Toyota Soarer - R154 gearbox from a Toyota Supra - Precision Turbo 58mm, T3, Compressor spec (60A/R, 3” inlet, 2” outlet) Turbine spec (48A/R, T3, 2.5” 5 bolt flange) - 840cc SARD Injectors 1001-87092 (80lbs, 840cc/min 43) - Tial V60 (60mm) external waste gate - Top mount braced exhaust manifold - An04 oil feed and An10 oil return line - apexi power fc - AEM fuel pump 320lbh@43psi - Nurspec exhaust system - 3” downpipe - Pace products radiator - pro alloy intercooler - apexi avc-r black edition More updates to come... but it's just mapping, intercooler pipework and tidying up (painting, loom tuck, etc)
this is good....very good!! what are you going to do about the holes in the bonnet? buy some sort of universal dmax bonnet vent or something to go over the top?
A .48 a/r T3 turbine is massively too small for a 2.5ltr engine IMO. What was it like with the supercharger? Looks fairly decent done, and big, would've been mint to drift I bet
This is a neat solution. I am jealous of how much space you have between the front of the engine and the rad!
I would like to test fit a BR/BN bonnet to it, if that doesn't work I will probably go custom =] Intercooler is made by pro alloy and rad is by pace products in Haverhill Stavros, this car is all about drivability and reliability not so much power - I think I will get what I want from it... But you're right in the sense of power to be had. Supercharger was cool and it sounded amazing however there was no room in there for an airfilter or pipework... It wasn't put together as well as it could have been either - I will post a video up later of how it sounded Haha yeah I wanted as much room as possible! Now I can fit some huge fans in there to keep it cool at drift days!

So I had a quick tidy up session, I am starting to think it wouldn't have looked to bad if I have it more than 10 minutes of prep! Wrap grinded off (I don't recommend this as it really does ruin your bonnet!! - luckily mine is temporary) Headlight cover was next Cold pipe welded up Heat wrapped and fitted Screamer pipe made And this is what she looks like today... Not much left to do at all!
Thanks dude All I have done recently is a new earth cable for the engine and re-routed the throttle cable
