Looking good dude, however I prefer the dares and cosmis over the Works...weird as its usually the other way around... liking the 17/18 stagger !
Would love to see it on those Work's with 17 all round but still looks awesome. I think the rear kit is the only thing letting it down now. I feel paint must be getting damn close....
Eugh, so where to start. Had to make up a new exhaust before Finalboss which I did so from cobbled together bits from the scrap bin and some welding assistance from Craig off of DynoTorque. It wasn't perfect but was an ok job considering the half an hour or so it took us. Set off to Finalboss from DW with Jan and Cady in a PS convoy, got caught on a manhole cover somewhere in Birmingham which bent one of the downpipe studs and started it blowing, great. Eventually stopped for food after endless traffic on the M1, tried to do a quick fix which ended up taking us two hours, set off again and eventually found ourselves at Driftland 13 hours after we set off, fantastic. Saturday morning set about trying to get some extra ground clearance in the exhaust, seemed to get it sorted and went out to hit the track for my first session. Car felt slow, massively underpowered and kept getting stuck on overcentre on big lock. A handful of incident free laps later, tie rod snapped, car dumped a load of oil and overheated all in one go, fantastic. Turns out my fans had decided to stop working, although no idea about the oil situation. Was totally disheartened by the whole thing and was absolutely exhausted from the night before so called it a day and just went out for passenger laps with mates, plus big thanks to Adam Maciejewski and Stu Lawson for letting me have a bash in their cars. Max got the oil issue sorted and we swapped in a new tie rod, but then on Sunday morning while topping it up with oil I went to drivers briefing only to come back and find that two mates had completely misunderstood my request for everyone to leave the oil so it can settle and we check the level and had instead decided to brim it to the point oil was coming out the dipstick...great. Long story short, I didn't hit the track at all in my own car that day, but thanks to Cady for lending me his immaculate and fresh-out-the-paint-booth PS13 as form of apology for absolutely owning my engine. Thankfully I managed to get the car back to Birmingham without any major incidents, where it now lies in a million pieces in the DW workshop while I figure out what to do with it. Meh.
Just spent the last 2 days reading this bit by bit. I honestly can't believe you're still at this. I'd have burned both cars in a fit of rage long before now haha. Loved seeing the progress you've made with drifting also! Great work man!
Yeah...I kind of gave into those urges now haha. The PS is now a pretty much bare shell and everything has been ripped out (cage etc). Not sure what the plan is yet to be honest...might go mental with the Cedric, might resurrect the white 13, might get something new. I'm far from decided.
This car is now pretty much a bare shell and the white S13 will soon be going to a new owner, I've also put a deposit down on something else so it's almost time for a fresh start Need to get all S13 bits shifted first though!
