s14 rear brakes - bigger shields?

    hi,

    i was thinking about maybe it is possible to put bigger rotors on rear in s14? using stock caliper? maybe someone try this ? or know from what car is possible to take similiar rotor but bigger? Like 280? or more?

    with skyline rear disc problem is thickness.

    Stock s14 disc have 8mm

    Model Diameter Thickness Center hole height S14 SR20DE/DET 258mm 9mm 68mm 47mm Skyline R32-R34 297mm 18mm 68mm 63mm
    With skyline thickness is impossible to put new brake pads.

    Other options?

    yeah, put the hub, caliper, and cables from an r33 or z32. which has the added benefit of having a handbrake that actually works

    How about spacing out the caliper and using S12 rear discs.
    The sizes are:
    Thickness : 10mm
    Diameter : 290mm
    Hub hole dia : 68mm
    Height : 47mm

    You would need to redrill them to 5 stud though.

    In this moment i have more important things to change then calipers ( i want later change them for skyline ones) , because my rear disc are dying i need to replace it fast.

    S12 option looks good, i found one auction on ebay with them but they write that:

    Centering diameter is 47 ?

    REAR BREMBO BRAKE DISCS NISSAN SILVIA 1.8 TURBO S12 84- on eBay (end time 24-Jun-10 13:38:22 BST)

    Dan at DB power does lots of upgrade stuff using the standard calipers.
