Just a quick question really, recently picked up an s14 that has one of your lovely rads fitted.

It's bugging me that this is the first s body I've owned where the temp gauge doesn't just sit bang on middle when it's warmed up. Just wondered if it's normal to have a colder running temp due to your rads or I have an underlying issue elsewhere?

    Many thanks

    Luke

Maybe - but you need a proper gauge to see what the actual temperature is.
I've never noticed that tbh. Block half the rad off and see if it goes up.

I'd rather it stayed low than overheated tho lol!!

If I give the car a bit of abuse the temp Gauge does go up, but comes down if I drive 'normally'. I've not seen it over halfway on the factory gauge yet, but like you say it's not exactly the best of gauges!!

The cars not getting hammered every weekend on track as it's my daily but I just noticed it was different, just thought I'd ask about the rad as not had one before!

I don't mean block it off then do a burnout until it explodes, just as a test.

Like oil coolers for example, I ran mine blocked off on the road permanently, then took it off for track - as it never got up to temp otherwise.

No I didn't think that was what you meant dude!! Would it be easy to block off, not really looked into it. Same principle as a boost leak test but on the rad? Any particular hose that would be best to block you reckon?

Nooo I just mean cover a portion of the rad, so air can't pass through it.
I used a piece of cardboard for my oil cooler.

I think it's best to install a proper gauge first. Then test if you need to.
