hey all just thought i would make a thread of my s15, i brought her with accident damage and have never seen her run. so when its all done i can not wait and pray that she is as good as she looks. my plan is to try a bit of drifting never drifted before, but does look like great fun and i need a hobby, before i'm too old lmao. i will add pictures as soon as i work out how. and step by step it may help others, this is the first time i have ever took a s15 apart or even seen one so i may make the odd mistake.
Learn to drift in something cheap ffs, it'll cost shit loads for parts which will most certainly get hit like the headlamps etc Then once you have the basics mastered try the 15,
i know what your saying pete but i learnt in my s15 and never really damaged it when learning, hit afew cones at pod ect but nothing major. you could be a cheap ass bmw and beat the fuck out of it or buy a 350z and never scratch it! aslong as your enjoying what your doing, thats all the matters
I know people that have learned on 15's, s13 silvias and the likes and they have been fine so go for it as long as you are prepared for the worst. there was another thread like this about a guy wanting to learn in an 86, if you got the cash and dont mind smashing up some aero or headlights then do it. maybe watch the headlights though
thats exactly what my dad said lmao, thanks but im gonna take it easy im a good driver anyway lol, i will just cry if i killed it
Good luck making the car you want and look forward to some pictures I too am learning in an S15 and get 'its too nice use something cheaper' all the time, in reality its a great car to learn in
thanks to all views but i need help, how do i upload pictures ? and is there a limit as i now have over 168 pictures lol. i take pics of every stage im a bit stuck at minute as i brought front end of s14a as looked the same or best i could get and now got to cut it off and try and match it, need to straighten front chassis leg first but any info would be fantastic cheers joe.
pictures of the damage cheers all sorted just got to decide which ones to up load as got think over 200 now lol these first lot of pictures are of the damage, this will be a step by step thread of the repair and hope fully the finish any one with parts would be much appreciated as finding it hard to locate headlights, bumper support bar.i still havent tested this side of the hid which i need to text might save a thew quid if it works really wish i could start her up, but as you can see i dont want to damage anything at this stage would rather wait until got new air con and all parts out of the way. right that's of the damage now you see its bigger job than what i thought, but i only see pictures on the net hadn't actually seen the car but all good a learning curve, i learn along the way but with cars and damage repair im new but this is the 4 damaged car i have ever owned i just wish years ago i tried this as im really good at it considering i do it all at home out side no special tools. i will now add some pictures of around the car. well that's it for a second will upload more tonight of the steps so far of work done i have spent about 5-7 hours on her so far so there are a thew pic's, one thing if anyone does know how to work out weather mine is an aero or just spec r as i haven't got a clue. well what does everyone think about my project?? more pic's http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/silvia050.jpg i have started stripping her now http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/29-12-2011014.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/29-12-2011049.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/29-12-2011050.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/29-12-2011055.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/todAY13-1-2012038.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/todAY13-1-2012044.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/todAY13-1-2012050.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/todAY13-1-2012053.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/todAY13-1-2012056.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/todAY13-1-2012046.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/joey069.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r578/s15-silvia/joey068.jpg looking good with a straight bonnet, just need to convert the s14a front panel to fit once finished pulling front end out to re-aline it.
