Got it to the blasters and used they’re forklift to pick the car up and drop the front and rear end rolling assembly’s and here’s a few pics before and after.

    9CE8A1FE-24E5-46CF-A513-9065E0AFC686.
So I was aware there was minor rust in the usual places and the reason for blasting was to identify any hidden areas before having the rust repaired here’s the rust,

this is the only potential naughty bit

    C6FA79EF-4994-4424-8FB2-F217F6E10C78.
And that’s it other than a bit of crumpling of the thin rails under the floor pan,
Next play is to try and tacked the sound deadening

Got the car home and noticed there was damage to the body that I didn’t notice when I picked it up after blasting, they had manage to knock the drivers side rear quarter and dented it and split the seam...
The car was covered in alge as you can see from the pictures and made it hard to see, so I went as it with hot water and a cloth all over to see if that was the only area but to my disappointment it wasn’t

both sills where dented, Both rear quarters and the split seam!

Gutted was an understatement I have had the car 10 years and it goes out for two weeks and comes back like this..

I phoned them to talk about it and got quotes for the repair and they’re where complete twats do deal with and it took months and long story short got a pay out, the car should have been clean and I would have noticed there and then, lesson learnt and onward and upwards.
To the sound deadening, ordered isopropanol alcohol and 10kg of dry ice.

I ran out of dry ice got all the passenger side out and most of the drivers side and it’s currently 8.5kg removed so far! I’ve been in talks with nickson motorsport for a few months and have booked in with him so I’ve been getting the car ready for him as he is sorting the rust out and doing the front tubs.
So I’ve exposed all the relevant areas to make it easier for him to do the rust repairs, this post is bring us up to date with the car at present time and the car is currently with nickson awaiting the work bit due to the current virus may be on hold, will update when I have some thing.

    Little update!

I bought a cd009 from Jdm Distro a while back and also asked them to source me a completely stock s15 spec r engine, waited a month or so and was a bit of a struggle to find one, then one popped up and happened to come with a 6 speed box that I didn’t need but came in the sale so paid the bulk of it and had a little outstanding so sold the 6 speed box to settle my bill and get my parts

    C8B39183-D4D5-4DB0-87EB-EC7395BD30CF.
    How it arrived

0759D4FE-9870-4934-B6EA-448C5F08434C. My plan next is to remove things off the engine that I don’t need and start making a parts list

Good read this, You've gone through lots of ups and downs with this car man! Was feeling the pain reading through it! I'm impressed you haven't given up! Hope you manage to get this where you want it sometime soon and start using it after all this time... Look forward to the progress....

    Little update

nickson motorsport phoned me over the weekend with an update on the rust, he’s got the car on the jig and got the subframes off to have a good look at it and no big surprises and he found a few tiny bits that need sorting and it’s had a good few complements on how clean it is from people in and out his shop and he said it’s in really good shape,

    so I’m landed with that!

all the rust repairs should be tied up by the end of the week then he’s going to start on the front tubs.

in other news I’ve picked up something rare...

    F809CED0-85A5-4577-A12E-02892FA8A264.

A set of super ganadors! And should see then in a few weeks

just need to sell my house to pay for them...

    more updates to come

    Big update!

Nickson has finished phase one of the welding and the car is being delivered back to me this Friday and I can’t wait, nice to have a totally rust free schassis, here’s the pictures of the work.

    D9FC9A3E-1D0A-4A74-BA0C-93FBC7B1EE35.
you can see all the areas in copper that have been sorted and whilst it was up there I got a bit carried away...

last pic is before the a and b pillar gussets went in.

Literally can’t wait to see it in person and just sit in it as I’ve never been in a car with a cage

Next on the list is to collect parts to mock up the engine bay before it eventually goes back to nickson for phase 2 of welding

So a few parts turned up..

    CBFCA1AD-1E3F-4FCE-8F1A-1C07D64AEA72.
Before the car has its last round of welding one of the things I need to establish is my driving position to be able to weld in my hydraulic handbrake and to do so required a load of parts... one being these super low seat mounts, B5EB6F57-B430-485D-846C-204D3C3753C9.
Next being the handbrake and I’m waiting on the rest from Japan, seat, steering wheel and boss, and a snap off boss that is on back order is holding it all up.

so whilst waiting for that to turn up I ordered something to keep me busy.
