Looking at an engine loom for a s15 but they don't know if it's from a spec r or spec s, or if it's even a manual loom.

There's a part number on it but Google just comes up with Japanese sites and not much information.

It's on eBay and there is pictures so I'll link the item number so you can see plugs and so on to identify which it is.

    Cheers guy's

Easy one. The spec s uses a distributor, the spec r has the cas (cam angle sensor)

I know ye I'd thought it'd be easy to spot that but pictures aren't great and hard trying to figure it out from the mass of plugs, I've asked plenty of questions but they don't seem to want to help.

Much difference between an auto and manual loom on a s15?

I see what you mean, i had the same problem with them not knowing the answer to a question i had. Does look like a spec r loom, not positive but think i can see the cas plug on the ebay pics. anway here is my manual spec s loom (bottom one) if this is any help, top one is 14a IMG_20180821_200640.

Oh I know s14 and s15 are different, I have s14a loom and I was goin to splice it with my S15 spec s loom but I'd rather just buy an s15 spec r loom and just plug and play.

But this is the only s15 loom I can find but they don't know if it's spec s or spec r.

But it looks to be spec r.

I'm guessing these ECU's have some sort of security so it won't just plug in and work on my S15? So I'd ideally need the ECU key and the ignition barrel for it to just work.

But if not can you send it off to have it removed.

    Thanks

Yes the nats will stop it starting if using a different key/barrel/ecu combination. you can have it programmed off your ecu, or you can remove the nats chip off ecu yourself

A guy done mine off here spiced them together for a plug and play set up was the easiest way! Because woth the s15 loom you'd need to repin it to run a s14a ecu or the s15 loom needs repinned to avoid the UK s14a nats!
