    yeah, very productive results!

you sound like me... careful, somebody might call you a bummer! you know man, now you know!!!

i just used the area i know to be free to use, if you can be more specific i can adjust to suit :) don't mind putting the work in man!

I believe this is one for a day when a drift event is not running, how about tomorrow or the day following? Then we can involve the head honcho's and ting? Lemme know man, im down.

Just a little bit of feedback to add, not specifically for the different track layout.

I do find the top track isnt looked after as much these days, i remember going round there the last couple of visits and there was basically no track, i dont personally enjoy having to make up my own track and prefer to aim for corner clips etc so maybe some more attention could be paid there?

I know you're always trying to keep queues down also but sometimes i feel im out on track with too many people of different levels at once, i could rarely get in clear laps (and i need the practice lol)

Just a bit of feedback from someone whos been going to DWYB on and off for a while :)

i used the space i know 100% can be used! In my mind it also free'd up and area that suffers from traffic at the events. one straight orderly que made sense to me!

what are you on about man? this is the real me, on or offline. i'd say anything on here to anyones face. i NEVER said to anyone "im better than you" but...

you just did! i dont even care about that, i was stoked for you. so what you on about you mong? lol.

    1) great you have retained the kidney "play pen track"

but, the track layout that you have designed is:

    a) smaller...
    b) more work to set up.

if you want the stuff you have laid out you go to mallory park...

but for me personally, i find Pod more demanding then Mallory due to the consistent "flow" of link after link.

now, this is probably due to my skill level, and not enough power to "carry-down-the-straights"

pods awesome, ok ok... something needs to change.

but for me, what you have proposed is not the answer imo Mitto.

but fair plays for bring the discussion into the air

Something like these.... there super light about 5kg and if you wanted them heavier you just fill them 1/3 with water.

i don't know if you do this or not but hire a road sweeper for a hour or so wouldnt go a miss.

good to see your open minded to improvements lex not saying it doesnt rock because it does i have to disagree with the earlier comments tho i think everythings clearly explained in the briefing maybe you missed it fella or something but on my first time i found the briefing clear marshalls helpful and more than enough people willing to offer advice and tips as well as jump in the car or take you round ???

and the course changes are good just lil tweeks here and there make you change your lines and try new things i feel my drivings benifited everytime from pod and ive learnt something new which is what its about

mittos got a good idea though putting new stuff in the pipeline and letting everyone have a say for lex to consider

... WOW I just realised how bored I get so quickly lol... didn't really read... well most of it but I'd love a change at the POD, especially if it can be made more "twin" friendly, with a good high speed entry into tightening corner... kinda like there is now.

However the best thing that could EVER happen at the pod, regardless of layout etc is to FILL THE MASSIVE HOLES! lol. I know it must be expensive but seriously there are some killer pot holes around on the big track... but I do like the bumpy un even surface as it makes it tricky and fun =)

what ever people decide I'll still have fun drifting it so go for it!

    Brad =)

Well I personally love the idea, as a person who dreams of being able to drive like Nakamura one day I hope this track layout happens ASAP.

People saying that begineers couldn't do the track dosen't make sense to me, you can make a track as safe or as exciting as you want by your own driving.

I also think Mitto deserves a pat on the back for taking time out to actually do this, who else is doing it? Also all the 'Mitto loves Japan' stuff is a load of shit, have you people seen the videos? They are on the blog constantly and I am sorry if you can't watch a meihan vid and say to yourself 'I MUST do that' then I don't think you can call yourselves drifting enthusiasts.

Also I can't see why this track would create any more risk to health and saftey than the current one.

I can promise that if this layout was in place I would become a Pod regular.

i like the long sweeping bends, but the two circle blocks would probs be better if you had 3, causing that to be a tight technical section....then that gives a variety of lines then

Read the WHOLE thread gentlemen, the layout Mitto suggested is smaller and slower than the one currently used due to a misunderstanding of the space available.

I havent been to pod for a while but a bit of a change would be nice but its limited as to what can be done due to the shape of the area and various bumps and drain covers. I thought the pot holes got filled in last year, have they returned?

Track access is fine as it is, as is the tyre van location.

I like the idea of it running backwards (clockwise I presume?), I always prefered it like that as you can straightline by the lorries to get some speed up for the fast entry.:D

I think Pod needs to do something new, I used to go solely to pod for DWYB and am hopefully going again on wednesday. But tbh it doesn't really offer any more than Norfolk does, which is £20 less and frankly a much friendlier and less "clicky" place to be.

I see santa pod as either a place for complete newbies, as the play pens offer a chance to try out a spin about for a day without an audience and without other traffic. This is something that complete beginners worry about, my dad has just started and was really worried about this at norfolk and my GF wants to try but is worried about looking like a plum. In this instance pod is better, but needs a more welcoming attitude towards this group.

The other group of drifters it appeals to is those that can easily do norfolk but don't yet feel ready for mallory or don't want to spend £90 every drift day. For this group I think a progression of the current layout of the main track would be really good.

Another small idea, would you consider charging less for the play pens??? £60 I think puts a lot of people off coming to try it out for the first time. How about starting at £40 (to match Norfolk) and doing an upgrade if people feel they have progressed, maybe pay an extra £10 to use the kidney (so a total of £50), and a further £10 again to use the large track (upto the usual price of £60)

I don't see how it is smaller to be honest, its not like his drawing is to scale. I am pretty sure something like this could be incorperated at pod, in fact the way I look at Mitto's pic it looks much bigger than the current layout.

And I was at Pod last month and yes it was very bumpy!

You are mistaken, look at this link, cant get a pic up but this is the available space at pod, Mitto has only used half the length. santa pod - Google Maps

    Therefore smaler and slower.:)

:smash: :wack: (Although Bizzle is pure keyboard these days tbf!) :D

Anyway, I know you were and it was a cockish thing to say on my part, sorry :o

    Aaaaaannnddd back to the point...

Clearly... When was the last time you were there? I remember a pic of your red s14(?) up near the tyre shed/water tank so around a year ago?

As has been said before, it has evolved and developed well and it is quite a fast track now. Anti-clockwise has a good balance for mixed skill levels, clockwise is actually a really good blast and quick.

I agree, the twin thing would be good, but no one really has missile resources to do so and its more advanced than people think certainly for 98% of drifters on the track as it is tbh.

But it has grown to where it has (UK drifting) in 6-7 years and is always improving where the 'inventors' have taken 30 with cheaper cars and more resourses.

So a blind public stab at how 'boring' dwyb is dressed up as constructive critisism, rather than a pm to Lex with you 2008 track idea is all a bit silly imo :)

    Get glasses.:D

Look at both pics, look at the row of lorries, Mittos pic is zoomed in more cutting out half the area.

my thoughts are we want to progress the sport in the uk

If pod is excellent for beginners and mallory etc is to hard of a track for beginners then to me pod is the only place for a newby like me to practice without the worry of spinning out n pissing off the good ones amongst u and destroying my car :(

if u make pod to hard for beginners then we won't turn up thus not promoting n progressing the sport

sounds to me like the guys amongst u who want a challenge should use mallory etc.

I love the sport n hopfully want to get good at it but I'm not loaded n can't afford to crash/destroy my car yet and travel around the country to all the other tracks, pods fairly close to me thus making the sport within my reach

There needs to be some form of ability group sessions/days
