    it says factory sr20 in a sil-eighty... now i thought they came with red top engines not the black top... am i looking into it too much? is it just the red top engine with a different cover? the intake manifold seems to be a little different to mine

    Al, can you clarify this?

    Would have thought a 1994 180sx would have had a black top. I think the price isn t too bad if you reg it yourself

    i thought all RPS13 had red top regardless of age?

    No, that's a proper late S13 SR20. It doesn't have the VVL of the S14 engine and a flat cam cover. It's also the high port head.

    The SR you get in S4 and S15 with the VT is referred to as the 'Bent cam' - reason being the cam cover drops away at the back.
    AFAIK all the S13s had the same engine. albeit the later cars had a black cam cover instead of red.

    Als is a genuine RPS13 with Factory installed SR20DET.

    Not bad for the money - like Alex says :)

    This is a Type 2 or 3, which have SR20DET black tops.
    Type X has the red top and its a quicker car and lighter.
