    Hi Guys,

How do you silence your exhaust if you get told you are over the site limit?

I have seen people doing wire wools and some talking about exhaust silincer bungs.

my car is 328i and I think it is around 108db static using my iphone as sound meter

Usually you'd have an exhaust bung you you quickly slip in to sort the issue out, or fit an ECV and moderate it that way.

If you've just hacked the exhaust to pieces and welded in some straight pipe thats your own problem and you shouldn't be so stupid in the first place.

All silincers are in place , i just oppened the cat and gutted it

Where do you get those baffles?

If you use ecv valve, would that work for twin pipe?

You are essentially blocking one of the pipes so i suppose if you put it right before the catbak it will shut that pipe so fume have to travel back and then out the other pipe hence exhaust back pressure??

Probably no slip on silencer option for a stock 328i, they're usually for the big Jap exhausts and just shove in the end.
An ECV would fit in the pipework usually near the cat, you'd need a universal fit one and might need an exhaust place to install it for you.

or just buy a new cat and put that on.

If you've opened the cat and gutted it, get your cat back off, take it to a decent exhaust shop and get them to make a bolt in silencer to the same dimensions and flange sizes :)
