Hello Everyone, My motorclub The Middlesex Motor Club have arranged to run a AutoSolo Gymkhana style course at Bovingdon Airfield for Sunday 14th August. Its a relaxed, full of sideways style event. Any local lads are welcome to come and compete. The event will be run alongside with the RS Owners Club, so there will be plenty old school Blue Oval metal ripping up the concrete.

The event will consist of 3 classes as follows:
-Drivers who have not competed on more than two tarmac autosolos
-Drivers who have not won more than one award, other than novice or ladies, on a tarmac autosolo.
    -All other drivers.

Me and a few other local guys off Driftworks have done one previously, and It was great fun. The courses and layouts change throughout the day, some becoming more technical but nothing too difficult to follow. There are always large figures of 8 type layouts and plenty fun sweeping bends. This Gymkhana will be have a larger layout than last time, so more seat time. The cars can vary largely, from 2 seater specials to Mk 2 Escort Rally cars to Drift cars etc. There will be scutineering to make sure the car is safe and not too noisy. The last two times my exhaust was'nt checked and its straight through, so as long as it's not piercingly loud it's fine.

Awards will be presented on the day for:
    - Fastest time of the day
    -Best MCAC compeditor
    -1st,2nd and 3rd in class
    -Best Lady compeditor

The price is £35 for a full day which includes membership which is needed to compete. The cheapest form of compeditive motorsport around. No racesuits or roll cages needed!Bring plenty tires and fuel. :D The maximum amount of cars to enter is 60.

If your interested pm me and I will send you the regs and an entry form, or email me at jamesmansfield79@yahoo.co.uk or email the organiser Chris Keys at chris-keys@fsmail.net

I will upload a video later of the previous Bovingdon Gymkhana.

Yep you can just turn up on the day with the cash :) Just a few forms to fill in and you should be all good. There is usually a drivers briefing and a tour around the course so can get familiar to its layouts. Thats awesome I have two friends from Amersham who should be coming in their mx5 drift cars. It will be a good place to test your newly built car . Yea dude just pm me and I will make sure you get a place on the entry.
