I've come to a crossroads, it's dawned on me that to get this car ready for the '06 opt Drift championship I'm gonna have to pour far too much money into this thing to get it the way I want (though I am bloody picky and punch far too much above my weight)...

The car spec (if you can call it that) goes like this:

    Metallic Grey J plate S13 121000 miles

    Small dents on the:
    passenger door
    passenger side front wing
    passenger side rear wing

The tail gate is the usual nissan swiss cheese and has been de-wipered and de spoilered but needs more work to finish. Apart from needing a new bumper and drivers side headlight cover thats it.

Mechanically it's pretty sound apart from a really annoying ticking sound coming from the back of the manifold (traced to a missing bolt) and the air con not working.

The interior is stock apart from a boost gauge and some JBL front speakers and a splash of gunmetal grey paint on the boost gauge pod and ashtray (I got bored one day).

I won't lie, I don't think I have the patience to sort all the problems but I think someone with some patience and more knowledge than me could have themselves a half decent drift car for about 1.5k and that includes buying the thing and sorting all the problems.

I'm just trying to gauge what peoples opinions are and get an idea how much I could get for it, it would make a pretty good spare car as the turbo is sound and holds boost well and the engine is sound (except that bloody ticking).

Cheers guys, I'll try and get a few pics up later.

why not just keep it, get the basics bits done and come and have some fun in it?
Building a competition spec car is fine, but it means you miss out on the fun and and valuable learning process of belting it round in a shitbox :)

Valid point, i wouldn't be that bothered if i put it into the armco...

Spose i'm just testing the waters, i'm sure i'll make my mind up when no one wants it.

If anyone else has oppinions they would be much appreciated.

james has got a point m8 if it drives then drift it i started in my 318 shit box and had more fun in that than i did in my 280bhp 200sx and my 300bhp skyline!!!!!! its all about having fun a lesson i learnt at great expenses buying lots of bits for the 200 that really i didnt need, as james says competition spec is fine, but get out there have some fun document what you are doing get a profile and some sponsorship sorted when your better and let someone else help you make a competition spec motor!!!!!

quick delete the post and forget about selling it m8. if i had the last 2 years ago i would be in a very very different position :)

    sorry to go on m8 but been there done it got the t shirt 1 S14, 7 S13's, 1 S12, 1 R33 GTST

keep it and drift it :)

driving a car you're not scared of scratching/denting/bending teaches you soooo much. You can really push it and understand the limits without your mind being on how much it's going to cost you.
I'm so glad I had the relatively pikey spec S14 last year, it taught me how close to the wall you can get without actually hitting it and was generally a great crack to drive. I had some really good fun in that car, which at the end of the day is what really matters :)

keep it I wish I had a shitter
I started doin the skyline up as a drift spec car and Ive missed out on a lot of practice :(
due to the cost fair enough Im not bothered about a little bump etc cause I know Ill just get it fixed but its yet at a greater cost than if I had a shitter.
Dont get me wrong I would never swap me liner for the world. to much work has gone into it but raggin a shitter and mashin it up does sound like fun.

I think we should have drifting DESTRUCTION DERBY :wack:

from where you are now fcuk fixing the manifold until it goes :D

weld diff (get someone to do it) £20
Get lowering springs as a minimum £80
get a prefacelift drivers seat and harness £30

thats £130 for a driftable car

the rest can wait m8 its not all about competition spec its easier to drift a power monster if you can drift something more modest then the most power becomes a bonus not essential. plus if you stack it like i did it isnt the end of the world i gaurentee you will stack it as well as if you dont you aint trying hard enough!!!!!!

so no more arguements do as you are told :D

Yes dad, :D though that said if i listened to everything i was i told i wouldn't have bought a 200sx and i wouldn't be(trying to) get ready to start the opt drift championship next year. :D

I might have a guy coming over to have a look if he doesn't buy it then i'll just drift it to death.

    Cheers for the oppinions/advice/threats... :D

    I've got a plan... :D

Someone is coming to have look on wed, if he doesn't take it off my hands i'm gonna weld the diff, lower the bastard, strip it and throw it on a trailer(to be purchased) which will be towed by my tow car(Audi 100 getting it next week :wack: ) and do my best to crash the mighty nissan into something solid at a practice day...

Hows that for a slice of fried gold?

Erm on another note i've got too many cars... (Anyone want buy an Astra  or Metro  )
