So i just bought a sr20det 240sx, its currently set to 13PSI (thats what the previous owner said, i have no clue how to verify thats what it is set to).

Im wondering one day i wanna do a bigger turbo upgrade and the supporting mods.. say i send my ecu into rs enthalpy to get it tuned and i tell them i want it set to 15PSi, how would i make the manual boost controller exactly 15 psi aswell or should i just get an electric boost controller since i heard they automatically adjust to the ecu

Electronic boost controller won't automatically adjust, you'd need to set that up as well.

You need to install a boost gauge to tell what PSI you're making.

I currently have a manual boost controller and a boost gauge, the only way I know how to check what boost I’m running is if I look around 3k rpms to check the max boost...

anyways Once I do my upgrades and get an electric boost controller it has two boost settings so I can have a high boost and low boost, but if my ecu flash tune is set to 15 pounds and I put on the low boost setting for 10 pounds.. how does that work.. is something going to mess up

Nah the ECU can adjust fuelling down for the low boost setting, people usually run 17 pounds and 12 pounds or so.

Also since I’d be running an EBC, I’m gonna assume I need a wastegate instead of a BOV or shoukd I run both

Wastegate is built into the turbo on the stock car, the actuator moves the wastegate open and shut.
    You need both.

You don't really need a BOV.

You'll need a custom tune for that then, you can't just send the ECU off in the post, it'll need to be done on a rolling road.

What do RS Enthalpy even offer? Their site is abit thin on details which is worrying.

Over here we have a well respected tuner that will offer an ECU chip for an SR running a GT2871R, it's for the S14 chassis though not S13.
Is your car a 180sx or a 240sx that someone has swapped an SR20DET into?

My car is a 1990 240sx (s13) with an sr20det red top swapped in, stock motor but with. An upgrwded fuel pump, greddy BOV, fmic and a manual boost controller set to 13psi.. eventually I wanted to put in the gt2871R and I heard I would need a tune so people have told me I can send my ecu in to RS and they will do whatever and send it back, you can buy this tune through enjuku as well

Yes you can get mail-order tunes but you would only ever run one of them with a wideband o2 sensor. No real point if you're going from 13 to 15psi though, and no real point putting an extra 2psi on the existing setup. Going to a bigger turbo and more boost is a different story. Don't forget to upgrade injectors and AFM/MAP conversion too. Consider the condition of the clutch too

If you don't have a lot of mechanical knowledge then its better to be safer than sorry. The cost of a mail-order tune and a wideband is not much less than an aftermarket ECU and a tune.

Expect to travel interstate for a tune. Nistune ECU's are great value for money for SR's. Check out their distributors in North America, do a bit of research on the ones closest to you and go from there

    I
I was gonna do bigger injectors, bigger turbo, aftermarket ecu, and a z32 MAF... and then run prolly 17-18 pounds of boost high setting

So this should be the parts list
    - bigger turbo
    -bigger injectors
    -z32 maf
    -nistune ecu
-external waste gate for the turbo side
    - I already have a BOV For the intake side
    -dyno tune

    Correct?

Yep, although if you're going Nistune there's no reason to go for the old and expensive Z32 MAF, the newer MAF fitted to Nissans works fine and is dirt cheap.
IIRC it's basically the same unit used in everything from the GTR to the Micra.
Your Nistune dealer should be able to point you in the direction of a good value MAF.

Obviously after installing all those parts the car won't drive until it's been mapped, so either trailer it to the tuning place or install everything there.

I’m not sure which aftermarket ECU’s are the best that area is kinda confusing to me, ive heard power FC are good.. not sure what the IIRC is

Also the guy who replied in this thread aswell said a AFM/MAP conversion which idk what that is either

Lots of ECU choices and lots of reasons why you should buy one vs the next, if you spend enough time looking into it you'll probably convince yourself only a $5000 system will do and everything else is shit.

The Nistune system used an add-on board to the original ECU to enable live mapping and a bunch of other useful functions - it's not expensive and pretty good value for money.
