Before anyone comments. Yes I realise this is a drifting forum and this is not a drifting car. I'm putting it on here because I know most people on here will have a garage or know their way around a car. If you are one of those people then you may be interested in making a few quid from this car. If mods have a problem with this then feel free to delete the thread. I'm just trying to help a mate out and possibly you guys. Anyways... Excuse the effect on the second picture. Here is his description. .. Hi there, la For sale I have my 2004 MK5 Golf 1.4 in black. The asking price is for the car as it sits which will need to be towed as the engine won't start. If there’s no interest over the next few weeks, I will be stripping it down for parts but I'm in no rush to get rid of it yet. la I have been the owner of this car for nearly 3 years and the car has had two previous owners, both who are family friends. I have a folder filled with receipts for work that has been carried out to the car over the years, minus the last few services which I have carried out myself. la The reason for selling is that the engine will not start but the alternator and starter motor are both working fine. All the electronics in the car are working but the engine code 01314 flags up when running an engine code reader on it. The car will need a new ECU which I currently don’t have the time/money for. la The car has: -86000 (approx) miles which won’t go up as the car doesn’t move. -MOT until June 2015 with two advisories (I believe this is correct but will amend it if wrong). -Tax until early next year. -Timing belt was replaced around 2000 miles ago. -The last service was around the same time as the timing belt with new air filter, oil filter, oil change and spark plugs (please note that the service warning light appears once the car is switched on but this is because I hadn’t reset it from disconnecting the battery etc). -New front brake pads/discs which haven’t even covered any more than 200 miles – I also have brand new rear discs and pads that haven’t been put on yet as they didn’t need replaced at the time. -New ignition barrel. -New rear left brake piston. -Coilovers which have been lowered around 90mm. -New front bushes. -Tinted tail lights (which can easily be removed with rubbing alcohol as it’s a spray on tint with no sanding required). -Four new Hankook tyres (195/65/R15) with plenty of tread left. -Upgraded GTI Bi-Xenon style projector headlights with a 8000k HID kit (which can be removed and replaced with regular bulbs). -Vibe subwoofer with upgraded JVC head unit (this can also be removed at the buyer’s request). -Remote central locking with two key fobs – both working. -Dewipered rear for a cleaner look. -Wind deflectors. -Yellow tinted indicators which can easily be removed. -Colour coded bump strips. la Bad points: la -The engine turns over but doesn’t start. This is due to engine code 01314 which means the car will need a new ECU. -The front bumper has slight damage (see photos) in the middle front which is only noticeable if you go under the car or observe t from up close. The previous owner drove into his wall and split it although it has never bothered me. -Age related scuffs and a few stone chips. -Some very minor interior parts missing/broken. -Slight scuffs to the door handles (inside) as the previous owner owned a dog. -Both front arches have slightly bubbling/rust on them which is a common fault with this car. la Overall, this is a very good car that has served me well and I will be sad to see it go. With the work done to the engine, this could be brought back to a very good starter car for someone who’s young or looking for good fuel consumption which it regularly provides 40mpg+. la I currently work 12 hour shifts throughout the week so I’d prefer text only please as phonecalls cannot be answered during this time. Please feel free to contact me onla07730593970laand I will get back to you as soon as I can. la The photos aren't the best and I need to wait until the weekend to get better ones without that stupid filter I applied so it's more clear but you get the rough idea. la I've been as honest as I can and have very likely missed something out from this ad as I've owned the car for several years but I will update as I remember more information. la £1000 ono. la Thanks for taking the time to look, Jordan.la
