hi i started this thread just to know the exact experience of any of the guys here in the holy world of drifting . i am actually trying to get 215/35r18 on 18x9 and thats much poke and stretch just to clear my fenders but can any one tell me that is it good for roughly driven drift car or you can say that daily driven drift car . there is no denying the fact that on tracks there will be no issue but on streets . speed bump , breakers , reflectors or any other stupid things for lowered cars gonna definetly break the rims .. is it rite what i am thinking.
215/35/18 on 9.5j rear. road and drift ride height, arch roll on the rear to clear tyre, skids on these wheels but i dont do a lot cus i like my tyres, no issues at snetterton drifting at this ride height road driving is ok, have to avoid potholes/drain covers like the plague, but hit a few and no problems as of yet, and the exhaust catches every now and then
Thanks mate ... http://rimtuck.com/photo/view/1246588503.jpg that is it how it looks like .. Frankly speaking im affraid of breaking rims . Not specifically breaking but mostly of high mounted metal road reflector..
But 205/40 will save you from potholes reflextors bla bla bla.... Is in 't ? Only issue is on the rims lip poke little bit ...
Why are you so worried about the reflectors/cats-eyes in the middle of the road? I run a 215/40/17 on a 9.5, a friend ran 205/40/17 on a 9.75, with a few other friends running similar stretch, none of us have had any problem with our wheels and the reflectors? Exhausts love to hit them but thats what you'd expect when running inches of the floor...
i destroyed a ARB, broke a droplink and banged up my front subframe pretty bad on a road reflector on a s13. just drive sensible on streets you don't know. and steer around stuff and you won't have to many problems
Done thousands of miles on 215/40/17 on a 9J. Been pulled by the police running this stretch and they were not bothered about it.
