@ transeurope , here is te deal are u going to run o plate's or not ? an did you mot'd the car before you did the swap ?
MOT is just a snapshot! On the day of inspection your car is approved or not... Your pvg number tells the examinator which standard specifications you car has (diameter bakes, rims, engine cilinders etc) and compares this at the moment of inspection. If you change any of these variables after you have gone to MOT this want say you're ok with traffic legislation. You have to change your pvg number also, to be ok wit traffic law (this is the info I recieved from goca/DIV). In belgium there's no specific institution where you can change your pvg nr for belgian cars as far as I know. According to the rigid axle suggestion. Salisbury 4HA is comparable with dana44.
ah I see transeurope , i get your point , but that traffic law noncence isn't realy nessesary , if your car lets say a corolla like gouwy's with its original engine go's tho the mot station ,and if it gets a green certificate , you can swap engine's without a problem because you don't have to go tho the mot station ever egain ,( exept if you want to sell it further on (i guess this is what you are talking about ) then your case is valid )
no it's more an insurance issue. When you're car isn't streetlegal they can claim the costs they paid to a third party in an accident committed by you (more or less the same with drunk driving). You just should have the badluck that you kill someone per accident or worse ininsurace terms (cause higher costs) someone stays long term invalid... . Now I stop this offtopic chitchat. Feel free to pm me further onto this discussion.
Hell ya! Dream Project! Collins lives about 20 minutes away from me. Good Guy. Glad to see his stuff making it out of the country.
