Finally, I have found the car, the time, and the money (not so obvious) to start making something that someday can have sense and bring some more happy moments in my life.
The car is a Subaru Legacy (SW) from 1995, it has a serious oil leak in the engine which is a 2.0 116cv NA, nothing special but we're going to work on it, the fact is that I want in the beginning convert it in RWD keeping the stock transmission, and just swapping the engine with a more powerful one just makes no sense if I keep everything else stock, so for the moment, bring back to life the engine, clean/fix a minor issue like the shifter and the clutch, then welding the central and rear diff and removing of the front axles, I'm also thinking about something to do for have more steering angle but it still an idea, after that I hope in some easy skids in rainy day. Stay tuned guys, pictures will come soon, ah! all of this is DIY in my garage with basic tools, this is the second engine rebuild of my entire life.
I'm from Italy, best regards guys!

The state of art this night, nearly ready to pull out the engine. As you can see i have a double garage sparing the space with a A4 b6 quattro 1.8t (that's another project) test fitted the new 16" Enkei rims and removed the exhaust, as you can see from the last picture the quantity of oil all over the floor of the BG, i have actually driven the car from Florence to Milan in this condition lol

Find out that the lowest bolts on the transmission/engine was super loose, don't know if it's a good thing. Going deeper, stay tuned.

Nearly ready to pull out the engine, had to wait the right ropes, the one that i have is way too risky to use and I'm alone in this operation... But so far so good, all the valves seem ok, lots of carbon deposits so i guess after the reduild to have back some easy factory HP

Cleaned the steering pump just to be sure that don't leak after the rebuild.
Dismounted and cleaned all the intake manifold. Don't know if the marks inside the manifold are from a previous preparation.

Ok... Not so we'll, i was hoping in better condition of the short block, at this point it have no sense to rebuild this engine, ordered right now a H6 the ez30 for a swap (250cv) bit it need a standalone ECU and I'm going to use a speeduino that i already started to build some weeks ago. Fringer crossed

Cleaned the transmission and some of the engine bay, finally i can see something
Also discovered that the AC system was flat out, so i decided to remove everything, with the ez30 i will have less space for the fans so the radiation will free up some useful space.
(Used just a bit of brake cleaner )

Discovered why the gear shifter was so slappy... An entire bushings is gone... Take the occasion to refresh the bushing also from the other pivot point.

Engine delivered it was just uncomfortable to take it out of the wood thing we call it "bancale" in Italy seem in good shape, no major oil leak just some "regular" spots, the intake manifold have been modified with holes for the bifuel use, i have to close them in some way... i have then removed the intake manifold to be able to remove the automatic transmission thing, and also the back of the engine is in good condition! Then i checked the inlet valves and as you can see they have been left rusting out a bit, I'm just send it and hope for the best.

The clutch back on it goes and the auto to manual conversion done. Really no idea what to expect from the stock clutch... The engine is in. Next wiring and exhaust.
