can't believe i missed this to get harrased to dance with crazy drunken aunties.. where's the results that link no worky..
I've not posted a "thanks to everyone" message yet, but thanks everyone. Dave organised a great competition, Phil ran a great track, the marshals were great, the judges gave excellent feedback (loads of stuff for me to go away and practice) and Mr Carter did a sterling job of the scrutineering. He totaly ignored the inherent bodges of my ex-Declan car and when I was whining about being underpowered wrote "Max Power" on the scrutineering sticker and said "that should be worth another ten". Hilarious. Oh, the girl doing the comentary was really good, had me in stitches with the anti R32 rant. I wish I could have heard the bit about me though. Fantastic day, I really hope it runs again next year.
Ah, cheers hun! Really glad you made it along in the Mazda...it's good to see that car still going well! Pity about the missing turbo though. That could make a world of difference. I think my commentry on you mentioned that you were driving Dec's old car, but that we're confident that Dec wouldn't be biased in anyway on the judging as a result. I also mentioned (I think) how nice it was that you were supported by your other half and that she was sure to be there cheering you on in the crowd. At least that's what I think I said! It was a great day, and I'm very confident about next year. See you there!
She'd have loved that - but she was already on her way home in a Civic full of tyres She had to leave early because she had a night out planned with the guys from work, or she had to get back in the kitchen and cook me some pie, I forget which.
well,, best bodge of the day was a wooden battery tray and abs unit or something held in place with rope And i think that car passed scrutineering. Big up Steve Carter, the cable tie equipt safety inspector
That car was my mate who i drove down with! ABS unit was welded to the inner wing but weld was so cr4p it broke off so he used rope and the battery box, well it looked like a bird box nicked off a tree It was only his 1st comp and 2nd practice, he done bloody well to get in the top 16, well done Matt Carter. I also cant find the resolts throgh that link?
I think Dave's gonna update the website as soon as he gets a chance. He's got lots to do : a DVD to produce, lots of points to add up, a house to decorate, a driveway to make, next years events to arrange, a laptop to fix, a PS13 to finish (so he can drive it) and a full time job................. etc etc etc Im sure he'll update soon enough, PS. sorry if i just reminded you of a load of stuff Dave ^^^
I still don't know where i actually finished in the rankings. It was somewhere in the top 8 but i don't know where!
It doesn't look like he's put them up yet. You should find them here soon http://www.driftinternational.com/sva_results.htm
