My bros rb20, i think all but two studs snapped when i had the manifold off!!! No need to drill or helical!!! Just fill the hole with weld, weld a m10 bolt to the weld and the remaining stud come streight out!! and the thread in the head remains perfect
Adam, yeh its my daily in the sense that if I want to pop to the shop at lunchtime its the car I'd use. Luckily for me I work from home so don't necessarily need a car on a daily basis. Polo, yeh good plan for getting the studs out, I'll bare that in mind if some of the studs snap when I try pulling them out
Aircon is all gone now. Removed the intercooler pipework and replaced it with some GTR Samco Silicone hoses.. mint. Clutch system damper came out. I'll be making a flexi up tomorrow night from the mcyl to the driftworks flexi thats on the slave and join it all up where it does as standard. Pulled all the hicas lines and gubbins out. Removed the undertray, I'll probably end up making a sumpguard at some point to replace it. Sorted the bonnet catch and horn out now that theres no aircon fan in the way. Productive night. Crap pic because its getting too dark for my phone. This is all junk! A whole load of nothingness down here now...
good effort dude, nothing like having a productive day. gonna keep an eye on this now, as its one of the few 32's that i like almost as much as mine! though thats reminded me i need to get round to binning my aircon pretty soonish...
Binning the aircon was so easy too. The only struggle was getting at the front bolt on the pump.. so I just whipped the rad out and got at it from the front with two extension bars on the ratchet. Simple. I just need to source or rather spec a turbo up now.. I'm thinking GT3076 or Holset HX35. Something for an easy 450bhp with room for more later if I want. Arghh the choices. Need to buy a new front bumper and fix the front wings and skirts too Time to tidy this shit heap up!
RB20 + Big turbo = Dead G/box - budget for an RB25 box conversion when you are shopping for your bigger injectors, ecu etc
The BMW is sat patiently waiting for me to have time to fit some new core plugs, refit the ecu, get it mapped, fit new seats and paint it. I might have news of the R324 some time next month.
Have faith Jord, I'm sure he won't do it again.... Would you Bryn? Back OT: Good work so far butt, looks fabooluss see?
