Yeah, the last really heavy started to pump my knees a little more than id like but I'd never pushed that sort of weight before. I will definitley do it again. Something mentally stimulating about having that weight falling on top of you. Makes it easier to push it away.

Forgotten about this thread, cool to see so many still at it

    Good loss already

10kg leanly is great going, its amazing how much there is to learn/improve as you get more and more into it

Yer I'm the same loads of people I know went, I was planning too, as wanted to meet some of the strongmen that where going.

Its the above that I find so frustrating, if your going to take gear just be straight about it or compete in untested federations, but there are a fair few that compete it natural comps, I can't imagine it being that satisfing beating people that are at a disadvantage to you.

ha ha same thoughts as me, don't care what you do, just don't be a dick lol

I find that proper paused squats really get my legs hurting, Pause at the bottom (count 1 thosand, 2 thousamd, 3 thousand, 4) going up as you'd be saying 4, do it with heavy weight for 3 reps 6 sets (around 9 RPE) ideally with a saftey bar squat bar if your gym has one, if not normal bars fine.

Normally do deadlifts etc after and a few accessories, then a high rep heavy leg press, and glute ham raises

Will have to give that a go, for something different.

I've been getting PT'd with the aim being a little strongman comp in June, I'm on week 7 now, and feeling stronger, theres been alot of volume etc and its been fucking hard lol, but hopefully be worth it, I've put a bit of timber on (18st 2 at 5ft 10)

Really been enjoying it, as I'm back on deadlifts after a few months off with injury (chiropractor visited, form sorted)

Our gym recently has sorted laurence Shalaie, Lloyd Renolds, Terry Hollands/ Robframpton (in June) visiting/seminars which has been very interesting, also rediculous how big they are in person lol

Do any of you have wall mounted chip/dip bars in your house any good or bad experience's?

Not sure if it would be allowed to ask in the wanted thread as it's all car based stuff but I'm looking for Olympic weights and bench to hit me up with what you have got

I bought a £11 chin up bar for a door frame from argos and it did me fine for about 2 years until I moved out. You do have to screw into the door frame though.

I've got one of the hook over the door frame type bars. Cost me 9 quid and it works wonders. Also doesn't require drilling holes.

I've put pause reps into my workouts now, they're awesome.

Concentrating now on my eccentric speed whilst squatting and consistent depth with heavy weight.
I'm actually gonna talk to a girl at the gym about it, best squats I've seen anyone do, she's a rocket.

I've switched to an Olympic style stance, but with a low bar grip for 180+. They seem to squat really fast with great forward drive. Feeling good so far.

I got a 200x2 squat too, my PB jumped up by 20kg in a single session, was amazing! Ha!
Never thought I'd get there :)

    That's 280kg !!!!!

No idea how they go so heavy, high bar at that body weight. Incredible.
I've also got some Nike Romaleos 2 and they're brilliant, I recommend weightlifting shoes for serious squatting :)

*Also been using Optimum Nutrition amino energy for pre/during workout - really good, no drop in energy levels whilst training.

Kam those videos are amazing. Such little fuss for ridiculous weight.

With your ON amino energy, Are you finding it better to have before or during your workout or doesn't it make much of a difference? I have a scoop of Glutamine just before I train which seems to help me. Used to use 'Xtend' during my workout but it started making me feel a bit ill, is the amino energy the same sort of thing do you know?

The guy doing 280 is 75kg BW - out of this world.

The amino energy is BCAA with some caffeine. I wanted a BCAA for "intra-workout", this just happened to have the caffeine in too.
I take it about 10 min before I start up to around 20/30 minutes towards the end, works for me in terms of timing.

Was going to a Gym in December 3/4 times a week for 1h30mins through to late February when I thought I'd give a Boot-camp/Circuit class a try.

Previously doing basic cardio to start up at the Gym, 20 mins/5km on treadmill and then onto whatever weight workout we were doing that day. Started getting some benefit from it but not much.

Then started at Boot-camp 4 times a week (Forth Valley Fitness) back in late Feb and have lost 2 stone 10lb with 4 inches off my waist. No specific diet plans, just eating less shite, less often.

Usual workouts - Kettle bell Swings (24kg), KB Squat Press (22kg), Wall Balls (9kg), Box Jump (24" Box [I think]), Press-ups, Sit-ups, Dumbbell Rows, Bar Thrusters (30-40kg), Dumbbell overheads (20kg), Chin Ups, Knees to Elbows, Mountain Climbers, Burpees, Squats, Squat Jumps, Split Lunges (with/without Plate or KB), Bear Crawls, Planks (Punches, Holds, Jacks, High Plank/Low Plank), Rowing, Running etc.

Been gradually increasing my weight lifted (load?) each time as it's always high rep count workouts.

I have to say, it's been a good varied workout most times I've been and just been Supplementing with ON Gold Standard Whey - one serving in morning, one post workout. Certainly helped me define areas I wanted to work on.

Anybody want to talk to me about prohormones? Are they illegal are they? I don't want to go down the route of steroids but I'm in a serious plataue with training and want something to give my body a kick up the ass. Was looking at prohormones but I know nothing about them.

Info would be good ta :)

    Haven't read the whole thread, but I recently got myself a decent squat rack, barbell and weights etc and converted my spare bedroom into a mini gym. I hate going to gyms! Started on the stronglifts strength program using an app on my phone. 3 times a week, 30-40mins max depending on workout, 2 different workouts alternating doing 5x5 sets, progressive 2.5kg loading each session. Started mid-may this year with an empty barbell, I'm now on;

Squat = 105kg (first failure on Friday, did 5/5/4/3/1 so will repeat tonight)
    Deadlift = 115kg reps, 135kg max for 2x1. 5kg loading.
    Bench = 65kg
    Barbell Row = 72.5kg
    Overhead press = 45kg

Had a few issues with the ohp because my technique was a bit iffy, but hopefully sorted that now. That's all I've been doing for just over 3 months, plus healthy eating, and the results are noticeable. Plus, really enjoy it. Aim is to squat 1.5 my bodyweight (93kgs currently) and deadlift x2. After that I can start doing more reps etc. and toning. Seems to be working alright for me!

Hardest thing I found was getting enough cals in, until I found a 1,000cal smoothy recipe which works a treat! Now I don't have to stuff my face full of food so not bloated half the time lol.

Havent read the whole thread but thought id respond. Ive been training / heading down the gym for about 3 months now. I was just putting on too much weight so thought id starting doing it. Hired a PT just to keep me at it and stop me bailing while working on posture correction due to my job. Soon I reckon ill go it alone and just pay the gym membership.

I went the whole way with diet and fitness regime and by my calculations ive lost 30lbs (about 2 stone). My posture is much better and I definitely look a lot slimmer than i did. I enjoy it for the most part, sometimes i do want to just punch my trainer (that is if i had the actual energy).. "last set of 10 lets go.. *brain tells me how much of a cunt he is*". But really its been very good and the results are great.

As for doms, i suffered with it a couple times. Both times in my arms and i couldnt lift a glass of water to my mouth. Sucks.

lol hardly... steroids provide a massive advantage over the average joe or even someone who has good potential and genetics. Its all the spiceboy mongs who have no clue how to train who are on gear that are average as hell and still on it. If your talking about the extremes of pro bodybuilding then yeah fair enough, the diet etc is intense but for the morons in average gyms they lack in most aspects. Intensity, or reps and time should be extreme one way or another, but they just flatline in the middle. Average.

Most people naturally should be able to get 1 rpms of around 140kg bench, 250kg deadlift, 190/200kg squat atg.. depending on general body aspects as well.

The thing that annoys me most is all the people claiming to be 'natural' that arnt, especially in bodybuilding its bs.

What I mean is, you don't take some gear, sit there and then get massive/ripped. You still have to put the work in.

What annoys me more than people claiming to be natural but aren't, is people claiming ANYONE with a decent physique is on gear.
Always people in shit shape too, anyone that looks better than them is instantly on something. I follow a channel that had a dude on it doing his first show and had been training for FIFTEEN years and people were giving him shit, it's ridiculous.

The good thing about pro level BB is that everyone is on drugs, it's "allowed". Level playing field unlike every other sport out there.

    Added old school awesomeness:

I have no idea bout performance enhancing drugs etc. But I do have an idea about plateaus. What have you been doing in the gym? What do you look like/lift like (depending on your goals)? and what are you aiming for? It's probably achievable without gear...

Unless you want to look like this:

Yeah I get you, naturally you can get like Lazar Angelov and all the rest of them but you need to choose at a point if you want strength and mass or lean, as naturally you cannot be BIG and lean (I mean big not general big)

See, that's a common misconception that doing steroids will make you look like that, it's bollocks.
SO many people are on them, and maybe 10% look good, or get massive.

Looks like synthol anyway with that guy, just filling yourself with oil.
