    so its been another productive one. Went down the unit after work friday and had the right mindset and was productive as fuck.

    Got the last bits stripped i could get too whilst the car is on its side. Then treated all the seams and any surface rust I found.

    Then i epoxy primered everything.

    Looking fresh as fuck. So headed home. The next day The next step was to start seam sealing everything.

    Let that dry and went and picked up Adams s15. Which is an animal.

    We lowered it and aligned it. Then went out playing. Its savage.

    So that lead us to Sunday. Started by masking up the car so i didnt throw underseal over everything.

    Then it was onto what i thought would be a shit job and ended up being very satisfying.

    I was very heavy handed with it. Ideally i dont want to do this job again for a long time.

    Took all the sheeting off once it had dried a bit, and stood back and enjoyed how tidy it looked.

    Its a very strange feeling to see it looking that presentable. Especially when you look at the state the underside of the car was in at the start of the build. But also a very nice feeling too.

    Whilst the car is on its side i am going to run the fuel lines and brake lines for the car and p clip them all nicely into place. Purely because its a nicer position to work on than once its on the floor. Also the brake line for the rear runs above the subframe so i need to do that first really, for ease more than anything.

    Then its onto the exciting parts of assembling this massive expensive jigsaw. Which i have to say i am somewhat looking forward too.

    So a small update.

    Popped up to the unit to get something done on Friday.

    Im waiting on fuel line and brake line to turn up ready to lay those before i put the car back on the floor.

    So i decided to start putting the rear subframe together and all the arms that I stripped to powdercoat.

    Layed it all out and slowly put it together.

    And eventually had the whole subframe togther bar one arm that i have lost the inserts for so ive taken it to work to make up a new one on the lathe.

    Looks nice. The hubs let the side down a little but i plan on fitting drop hubs once its alive and kicking so i didnt see the point in stripping and painting it.

    That was as far as i got. I have a busy few weeks so i may not have much in the way of updates.

    Really good build read it at like 3am on Monday and just popped back to finish off

    Makes me wanna keep my 32 aswell cars come on leaps and bounds from when you started

    So i made some new spacers up for one of the arms on a lathe at work because i lost one for the traction arm.

    Then i had a look at putting my inlet together. I threw the fuel rail on.

    Then realised i was missing most gaskets and so on i needed so that fucked that idea. I also realised the throttle body i have wont work because it has some weird idle port in it that wont seal with the adaptor i have so i need to find a new throttle body.

    I also have made a purchase i am very excited about. Another pair of ssr agle strusses.

    They are litterally brand new. Never been on a car. Which i think is incredible for 20 odd year old wheels.

    They are 18x8 et37 so a little tame for me. But i couldnt resist them when i saw them. They will relip to make perfect front wheels in literally brand new condition. However they took up my spare money so I haven’t ordered what i need too to actually progress on the car so there is going to be a little slow up in progress for the moment. Especially with Christmas on the way. But i am hoping to do my best to get it on the floor before Christmas.

    So another quick update. Headed to pod on Wednesday with Adam in the s15. Had a laugh although i have to say the pod track is rough as fuck.

    Then went up the unit on friday and got another job done. I was told by Steve Richards that i should use brush on enamel over the gravitex. To provide a hard wearing finish and a gloss finish so dirt has a harder time sticking. So i went to the paint shop. Got a tin of the good shit.

    Smashed some tunes on the sound system in the unit and cracked on.

    Takes a fucking age but its strangely satisfying.

    Its nice because you have to go over everything so you can put it on nice and thick where you may have gone a bit thin with the gravitex or anywhere you think needs it heavy to protect it.

    Its nice to see the underside looking so minty fresh after what i started with.

    What wasnt looking so fresh was my finger the day after. Painting a whole car with a 2” brush and thick paint is a bit hard on the skin.

    Anyway i have finally ordered the fuel line and clips. So hopefully this coming friday the first of the new parts will be going on the car and once that is done it can come back down off its side and should hopefully start to become more car like.

    I may or may not of been taking a dump hahahahaha.

    I personally will not be going in my car. The track is rough as fuck, the day we were at was pretty poorly run too. Leaves a lot to be desired.

    Price has jumped up alot aswell ey?? Sure its over £100 now? or near to it atleast...

    £110 now, If you do 5 days they give you a free one, surface is pretty shitty, but never had a problem personally (my cars are not stancey boi low though).
    From my experience, the days are run pretty well. Everything normally runs smoothly.
    Lots of seat time, but stay only on the big track unless its pretty much your first skid day.

    Never bother with pod. There are better tracks for less. I've never found their days well run.

    Do they still allow drifting without a helmet? Seems crazy to me.

    Can still drift without a helmet, don't see many people without helmets there though.
    Benefit of Pod to other tracks, in my opinion, is it is fairly hard to crash...
    The addition of kerbs rather than cones makes a difference too.
    All depends on what tracks are local to you though I guess. Pod is the closest to me other than Lydden, and its still a 2 hour drive away (we have no tracks here in the south :/). And Lydden prices are way too high for what you get.

    We were the only ones wearing helmets when we went. Baffles me. Also its not that hard to crash there you only have to look at the number of cars that have been written off in the blocks.

    Im not going to sit here and slate the place. If you enjoy it, then thats grand. I am meerly saying i will not be going myself :)

    Thanks for the info mate, can't believe they don't make you wear a helmet but fair enough... probably give pod a miss then it's not nearby so not worth the drive by the sound of it. Good luck with the build look forward to more

    Awesome thread been following for a while! Can’t wait to see this built. Following on from Pod and different tracks, where do you plan on skidding now? Pod is my closest now rocky has shut but I haven’t heard great things about it! Any suggestions or ideas? Keep posting man it’s looking rad!!!!

    The Teeside days are pretty hard to beat (whether Teeside's own days or the Flatout Factory days). I know it's further but it's worth it. Also Birmingham wheels is good for the price (for as long as it's going to be open).
