Toyota Corolla Gt 1984 MOT/Tax/mlieage - N/A Price - £12,000 ono Location - Essex, UK Description - Highly successful full race Toyota Corolla. Would also make a spectacular drift car. Details - It is with MASSIVE regret that I put my Toyota Corolla GT Coupe AE86 race car up for sale. Anybody who has followed club lasaloon car racing over the last twenty years will probably have come across this car in one form or another. In previous guises it has won it's class in numerous races and championships. In the last year it has been running in CSCC's Special Saloons series. A friendly series that gave us the opportunity to get the car handling better. The following are samples of recent lap times - Cadwell – 1:40 - On three year old slicks Donington – 1:21 - Ditto Snetterton 300 – 2:14 - Propshaft vibration limiting the car to about 100MPH and the rear suspension bottoming out. With what we have learnt this year I was expecting to be 1-2 seconds faster next year as we finally know how to cure the oversteer. The engine was rebuilt at the beginning of 2013 and the gearbox and axle have just been rebuilt. Make no mistake, this is NOT some tarted up road car with some aftermarket rubbish fitted. It is a highly developed race car designed to win. The engine is a 1700cc featuring Arrow crank, Carillo rods, JE pistons, VERY large Manley valves, titanium retainers, ultralight flywheel, 12.7:1 CR, unique intake system with 8 injectors (sequentially fired), PACE dry sumped, Pectel T6 ecu and very big cams. The engine was originally built by CES in Buckingham but subsequently developed in conjunction with them. Despite being tuned down it makes around 225BHP and 145ft lb. Fit larger exhaust valves and change the cam timing and there will be another 10BHP+ to play with. It is good for around 10,000RPM but not really worth taking over 9,000 because torque is so good. The gearbox is an Elite six speed sequential unit and the rear axle an Elite all ali unit featuring one degree of negative camber. The dampers are proper double adjustable race Koni's. The front suspension is billet aluminium links with very special geometry. The rear is equal length links with a watts linkage. A quick turn rack is fitted, connected to a lightened steering column and a carbon fibre steering wheel. Brakes are AP, fully floating at the front. Wheels are 15inch, slicks on Image split rims or wets on Compomotive splits rims. The bonnet, doors, tailgate and N2 arches are all carbon kevlar. The windows are all polycarbonate. The roll cage was a result of many hours on FEA software, which Barry Lee Racing then fabricated. The dash and data logging is PI/Cosworth Omega. The fuel tank is an ATL FIA unit. The date has expired but this isn't an issue for MSA races. The extinguisher is a Lifeline 360 plumbed in. The engine and body looms were professionally made in lightweight high quality wire. Power is managed by a PDU. The car comes with a whole bunch of spares, moulds and bits and pieces. Strictly no canvassers. This car would cost over £40K to build from parts. The labour and knowledge that had gone into it would easily double this. It really is a no expenses spared build designed to win anything it enters, as has been proven many times.
Wife's credit card bill. Still trying to decide if a divorce wouldn't be a better option. I have had the car for 24 years and the wife for only 12.
ha ha thats a very good reason yes yes its hard to keep it car+wife you have done a lot of work good sell ./
Any chance of a look one weekend I live in Laindon and often pass by on my way to the GGs field in Hanningfield I have two track cars already a AE86 and a R32GTR so one will have to go first as I told the wife [ ] but no harm in looking
My dad lives just around the corner to the car so pretty much any time. PM me your details and I can put you in touch with my dad.
I've seen this in the flesh and its awesome! Probably the most developed ae86 in this country. You know you don't want to sell this- we met at brands hatch and I've seen how much work you put into it. You and your dad were both very friendly and helpful. If I'd had my corolla that long I'd want to be buried in it! I did send you a message through ebay and you said to get back in touch. Also I just got a second credit card recently and transferred the balance on 0% for 28 months!!! :-)
