hi i am thinking about buying a starlet and making it my project, to be a daily driver as well as being able to drift. But it has a small engine but would love to drift, its rwd and cheap, but it has a lack of power and i will have a lack of funds to make it suitable for drift with modifications such as turbo attachment or engine replacement. Could any1 give me any info or sujjestions before i concider it as a potential drift car.

    thnx ads

no need for turbos and crap like that! a starlet is only slightly heavier than a crisp packet so with some carbs, exhaust and head work it should fly! mine was stupidly fun even with an open diff and only 1200cc's of mayhem, did 95mph and the right hand caliper stuck on when you braked hard, making it try to donut every time you pulled away from some lights or a junction. damn, I miss it

thats gradifying news, i think, but the car ive seen is only 998cc, but a mini has the same and u can bolt on some stuff and make it fly, i hope that would be the same case for the starlet, only prob is suspension. if i wanted to drift it, which i would i would want some suspension. maybe some spax 1s? or the extent of getting some from japan where there are some fine starlets around as there are all japanese cars in japan

I have a TRD LSD for a starlet for sale for 250 quid, you can use lots of the AE86 components on them as well, shocks rears just bolt on and front on need a minor mod, loads of people have done the 4age engine swap but you can get ok power out of one of the K series engines
    Excellent fun to drive

Yeah the Four Door Corolla DX is Uber Cool .. And Fair play to Darren he's not afraid to hurt her either. What a lot of lads over here use the Toyota Liteace Engine it's a 1.5 engine ..

Check out www.orangetoy.com or there's a fair bit posted on my own forum about it www.cruiseirl.com/forum [/end shameless plug]

Hehe, I got 1st refusal on it - Full Service History, 60k on clock and apparently no rust.

1.3 engine too with late ? (square) headlights.

4 door thou but I think the other facts more than justify a look in :)
