1995 Volvo 940 2.3l turbo 11 months MOT 2.3l turbo 'red block' Stronger m90 gearbox New OEM clutch (approx 150 miles) New TTV mega lightweight single mass flywheel (approx 150 miles) professionally rebuilt 18t turbo (done 500 miles) Larger 'Brown' Bosch injectors IPD turbo high lift camshaft (approx 2k miles) New head gasket / cam belt / water pump / crank & cam seals / gaskets etc (2k miles approx) Bleed valve style manual boost controller 2.5" turbo outlet and downpipe emptied cat & 26" cherrybomb glasspack mid box Chipped EZK and ECU inc 7k rev limit and retarded timing at high revs colder Spark plugs (approx 2k miles) New fuel filter AEM air fuel ratio gauge and o2 sensor (fitted but Brand new) K&N cone filter (approx 1k miles) boost gauge EGR delete Air con delete fresh p/s fluid Recent new Pagid/EBC discs & pads all round Volvo OEM lowering springs all round New tie rod ends Gaz Gold 16 point adjustable rear shocks Repositioned top mounts for improved front caster Crazy amount of steering lock as standard, 3 point turns are a thing of the past! ATS Vauxhall carlton wheels + 2 spare sets of volvo alloys New Uniroyal rainsport tyres on the front (approx 500 miles) Stripped rear interior Drivers Cobra bucket seat standard p/s seat and seatbelts OMP wood steering wheel Horn is on a button All the fixings for the rear seats and interior are present should you want to fit an interior back in, and I've kept the wood boot floor in (badly) tinted 'limo black' rear windows to hide the stripped rear electric windows electric mirrors, however the drivers mirror motor got damaged while it was parked new heater matrix (pain to replace!) Currently running 13psi which is around 230/250bhp. At 20psi its mental, I turned it down to bed in the new clutch and never felt the need to turn it back up after! These engines are fairly slow revving but between the IPD cam and lightened flywheel it picks up real nice and hits full boost very quick. (Needs to be run on 97+ octane fuel to keep things safe). Its a crazy amount of power and potential for the money, with proven reliability. Its good for 300bhp in its current spec and uses pretty much entirely tuning parts from newer volvos, so no crazy JDM maintenance costs Of all the cars I've had this is by far the cleanest and easiest to work on. Its a volvo so has no rust and the engine bay is massive. With the air con & rad removed I can stand inside the bay to work on the engine. The rear is live axle so has nice strong driveshafts and diff changes are much simpler. Theres more space in the back than a van & the car only weighed 1400kg before it was stripped. Brakes are surprisingly good too. Car has done 177k miles. All ball joints and bushes feel good. The engine is performs well, but is quite tappy. I made sure before upping power that I did all the essentials, like the head gasket, water pump etc. Currently has an open diff fitted, which is noisey so could do with being swapped out. £1100 Located in Billingshurst, West sussex
