Racer is the game I cut my teeth on in terms of car and vehicle modelling and texturing 5 or so years ago. Now I work for a games company doing the same thing!

If I'm right that model was part of the D1GP mod that FSR produced along with some others. FSR is a member on here too so I'm sure he'll spot this thread sooner or later! :)

Racer is a great game with car physics (if you have a good car.ini) but the multiplayer sucks :p

I have no idea what's involved in making these, but I've got one hell of a cool gallery of various DW cars in various games. I love it  Keep up the good work

Instead of spending quality time with my angle grinder and welder today I decided it was about time I started making a model of my GTR so that I can try out bodykit/styling ideas on it without having to butcher the car in real life! The result of a few hours work:

Nice one. Been liking the shots I've seen so far. May well be the best thing to hit XBL when it goes up. Any word on a release date?

What game is that old MK1 Escort in? GTR/GTL I presume?

ROFL! As I said I started off with modelling things for Racer in a program called zModeller which is a pretty basic free to download modelling package, I don't know how advanced it is now though, if you're really interested do a search on RaceSimCentral for my old username on there; dbalban. I spent a few years just messing about trying to model different cars to learn different techniques and such. I spread my wings into making car models for F1 Challenge by EA Sports and made a couple of cars for the old Historic Touring Car mod which is when the old SimBin Development Team (SBDT) spotted what I was doing and asked me if I wanted to join them as they embarked on their first commercial product that was to become GTR. I stayed with Simbin throughout their early commercial days whilst making cars and various trackside objects for GTR and the beginnings of GT Legends until the majority of the development team decided to leave and form Blimey! Games. So we all left en mass on the proviso that we'd subcontract the work for GT Legends and GTR2 for Simbin. Ever since GTR2 I've been working on Blimey! Games products which are now pushing the boundaries of whats possible with the lastest generation of consoles.
