i had it fitted a couple of weeks ago but last nite was the first time i have "tested" it properly, in a word... awesome!!! the car handles so much better and i can actually understand what im doing right and wrong now, i still suck, but i feel that i will learn something from practice now! :D anyone thinking about it, just do it, parking sucks but who buys a car to park smoothly anyway!!!

anyway onto the quick question, is it legal to have a welded diff on your car come MOT time??? it aint due for a bit but wanna know if its allowed or not, cheers people

I don't think you have any MOT issues. It means you'll get a nice rear brake test result, exactly the same on both sides ;) Or you can tell them it's got an LSD fitted and they're not supposed to do the rear brake test as it can mess some LSDs up apparently.

Dont think its a good idea to be driving at high speed with a welded diff???? not for road/motorway + is it no a bit awquard at low speed trying to manouver the car

Ive been told you need to "exercise caution" on fast sweeping wet corners :)

Does anyone tell their insurance they have a welded diff? Or do you tell them its an LSD?

Can't wait tio get mine done, had a couple of welding volunteers but I'm a bit dubious about getting soemone to do it who's never welded one before. How tough is it to do?

Anyone want to make some beer money and weld a diff up for me? I have access to a facelift diff, but does it need to be open to be welded?

Same here, but got a '91 s13 (facelift) which I think has an LSD though I'm not sure. At 136k miles I fancy getting it welded anyway

My brother has a welded diff in his S14 and its great. Very predictible, always doing the same thing. It's noisy at low speeds with chirping tires and the shuddering sub-frame, and it tends to push the front end a bit. But really thats all that is bad about it I think. Get one! I prefer my Kaaz 2 way, but the $$ difference is huge.

Hey Colonel K, I like the Crapolla inc in your sig! I love Red Dwarf! hahah I have hella videos.

    i like this plan!!

    hi all,

i am running a 95 rev 3 MR2 g-ltd na, reason i cant sell it.... DRIFTING in the rain, roof off in the sun, i love it too much. my plan was to sell it to get a drift wagon, but i think mista 2 will do the job. trouble is i dont have an lsd which will be a big step forward!!

so....has anyone changed the diff in their na or has anyone welded the one they have, can it even be done on the mr2??

    Thanks a lot.

    Lee
