Any dates lined up???
I think it's been banned there. Pretty sure sxoc lined up a drift and grip day but now it's only grip, which is a shame because that place is awesome!!
im sure it was due to the state of the grass etc
yep, anglesey are now only holding top end drift events , no open days. this was due to damage done at a day in feb. there is another reason on top that it will not be happening but i'm not getting into that.
Devastating...loved the last one I went to
Glad I went to the first one. Even bought a car purely for it
Figured someone would fuck it up for people
Don't know the story so if someone cough Kieran cough would like to Tell me
Was a wet but good day in Feb, was fun trying 70mph entries in the wet and pulling them off consistently. Shame about those who destroyed the grass, would've been awesome in the dry
Bdc are holding a practice day there sometime this year
So glad Gaz persuaded me to fix up the car for the first one now!
Love it how people are still talking about this and trying to point fingers and place blame on a single person. I went off 3 times that day (just touching the grass not miles away). Blame me if you like. But before you do, I witnessed 2 BDC cars going off, 2 experienced cars going off and a skyline hitting the barrier, and that was with me having an hour long ban
fix your car up and come to teeside on Monday for limited place skids.
oh and its your fault chidley.
It's close mate but won't be ready for Monday unfortunately!
Will defo be on for Teeside later in the year though!
There is a crazily simple way to not damage grass. don't hold a drift event in the winter when the ground is saturated from winter rain. If that event had been held now it would have had a totally different outcome. I can't understand why people don't see that.
Doesn't help that the rain was torrential and constant that day too.
Its a shame as its my local track, i went to both days and havent been anywere since. Im sure it would have been a different story if it hadnt been raining.
Dude, its Anglesey, August averages 16 rain days .......
The simple way to not damage grass is not to drive on it, I think the owners expect a bit of grass tracking but not as much as they got
The day shouldn't of happened in those conditions in all honesty and also a sort of vetting procedure should have been in place like Bob had for Mallory, basically if you can't link a circuit consistently then don't book. Some of the driving I seen was a complete joke with the same people spinning lap after lap, hence why I didn't book because I didn't deem myself good enough.

Shame its stopped. I did hear 1 of the owners is a bit of a toff so a bit of grass gone would set them off
thats all good and well, but then you take the fun out of drifting, and you never get any better, i learnt new lines and new angles of initiation that day just from following philmo around the track, i wouldnt have done that if i hadnt, i also got a bit more experience twinning (not stupid close but close enough), tapping the tyres and linking tracks.
anyway, it doesnt matter what anyone says, the simple fact of the matter is it wouldnt have mattered if you were racing drift cars, grip cars, superbikes, or penny farthings, you'd have hit the grass that day.
The reason there have not been any further Anglesey days IS NOT because of the damage to the grass. It's not my place to go into the details, but you lot have turned speculation into fact, and this is not the case. Anglesey don't have a problem with drifting to my knowledge.
