Hi, I need some extended wheel studs for my s13. Anybody had any experience in these? I know I need a 12.4mm spline but they seem to quite hard to acquire. Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

Seem to be impossible to source, they are the same as S14 rear.
I'd drill them out and use 14.3mm personally.

Ye I've seen the nismo ones, was hoping someone was going to point me in the direction of some that aren't going to cost me the best part of £100.
Ah well, looks like the missus isn't getting her crimbo present this year...

I used to use H&R longer studs that came with a spacer kit but they were shite, the splined section wasnt long enough to engage properly into the recessed stud hole in the hub so now and then they would end up spinning and destroying the spline. Now I drill the hole out so it takes S14 studs which are dead easy to get hold of. Its a bit of bodge on my part as I dont have quite the correct size drill so end up jiggling about a 13mm drill to make the hole bigger.:wack: I tried a 14mm bit in an old hub and with only 0.15mm of spline engagement each side of the stud it was too loose. I reckon a 13.5mm (if they are available) or a 17/32" bit would be spot on.

Nice one Steve, that should do the trick, does the hub need retapping then? Or will the the wheel studs be enough?

No tapping required. The studs are an interference fit on the splines so as you draw them into the hub they will cut their own grooves to lock into.
