My KE70 Corolla!! ***UPDATED*** Hi all Some of you may have spotted in another post that i was after a daily driver but something a bit interesting!! Well i got it Here is my 1981 Toyota Corolla KE70 1300 that I picked up yesterday!! This car is so clean and origional, I couldnt believe it when my friend brought it around! It was owned by an old gentleman that passed away and his family just took his car to the local scrap yard in cornwall! The guys at the scrapyard thought it was too good to scrap so sold it as a whole! A friend of mine knew i was after something "old skool jap" and when he saw it in the yard he told me about it! To cut a long story short............ Its now mine . This car has all the O/E parts and lots of bits like Toyota floor mats, tool kit, Books etc and even has some maps from 1981 lol!! Its in really good condition to and only has some rust on the bottom of the drivers door!! The car looks like nothing has ever been inside it and nothing is used, broken or worn!! Anyway, heres some pics {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
Very clean and mint!!! well.. very good for it's age. Nice find mate, are you intend to do anything to it?
Plans............. I do have some hopeful plans for the car! I will keep the 4K 1300 engine for now and just put an exhaust and filter on the car so I can have some noise !! This keeps me with a cheap car, (which was the whole point), with low fuel bills and cheap tax!! The styling im gonna blame on "Tetsujin" as ive fallen in love with the one on the following pic he sent me....... {} ...........Im going to base my creation on this car and try to get as close as possable to it! I have a friend that lives in New Zealand and im going to ask him nicely if he can source some parts like the twin headlights etc as there seems to be lots of KE70s down there!! Im gonna need some cool deep dish wheels too if anyone has any ideas, on a budget!! Any condition as ill just refurb them!! Oh and any ideas on suspension?? Lowering springs?? Where from???? Lets see what happens I guess Keep you posted
first off, thats fecking nice mate! second, wheels wise celica supra alloys look good on themand should be under £100, anything like the ones on that pic are gonna be big money suspension wise just cut the rears and get the folloing for the fronts aftermarket ae86 shocks and springs ae86 struts ae86 hubs ae86 lower arms ae86 brakes shouldnt cost the earth. the ae86 gear on the front will also widen the track about an inch so it will look pretty cool.
Its not too nice to do "anything" with it, as frankly, its a bit shit as standard. Few mods can make it dead cool tho.
Cheers for the replies people !!! Im only going to mod it subtley like the silver one in the pic! I know they are not amazing cars as standard but this one is really clean which is really nice to see! Any mod will only be an enhancement and will be in keeping with the retro theme
geez, i guess i cant type sarcastically, can i? i might have some zenki KE70 cusco top hats, they fit my old zenki one. i have a kouki now, and it takes AE86 ones just fine.
Another one saved from certain death SSWWWWEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Thats cool dude Best of luck with it man
awesome find. if you get bored of it or run out of funding be sure to donate it to those who make them magical* (and open up some cash for the silvia) *most of those above who have posted on this thread *
