Monotube Shock Design
Monotube damper technology allows use of a larger damper piston valve in a larger single chamber, which enables more subtle & consistant damper control, larger volume oil capacity, improving heat dissipation, and use of a secondary floating piston with a separate gas chamber making it less prone to oil aeration.
Monotube technology also allows us to invert the damper in McPhearson strut applications improving lateral rigidity. These applications also use a low friction coating applied to the damper shaft to counter the increase surface friction improving performance further.
Aluminium Top Mounts and Spherical Bearings
HSD precision aluminium components are beautifully machined from high grade alloy, and use high quality Japanese spherical bearings. On most Macpherson strut models camber adjustment is provided with an adjustable bearing carrier.
High-Gas Pressure Technology
A monotube damper has entirely independent chamber separating gas / air from the damper oil, it is charged at a higher pressure for improved performance, and allows for a broader range of alternative spring rates that work with the given damper valving.
Spring Rate Options
We have refined our standard HSD Monopro kits to suit the vast majority of customers in Europe looking for the best balance of performance without compromising comfort. If you feel you require a more comfort biased spring rate you can chose the Comfort Pack or if you are looking for an even more performance biased kit you can choose the Track Pack. - Please note these additional options aren't available on all applications.
