The Master Bite pad compound uses sintered metal friction material, giving instant cold bite, high initial bite, and no fade at even the most extreme temperatures.
What's crucial for a handbrake specific pad is the instant cold bite and low compressibility this compound has, which gives a firm and consistent feel for easy modulation.
If you're sharing a caliper for the the handbrake and footbrake, this compound will keep it's friction coefficient well over 1000 deg C, meaning constant performance under heavy braking. They also have a low wear rate, meaning fewer pad and disc changes. We recommend fitting these in conjunction with uprated front pads for a balanced setup.
The pads are produced for us by Carbone Lorraine, who manufacture competition level brake pads. Their pads have been used to win events such as 24H Nurburgring, Clio Cup and championship level rallying.
*Please note, these are a race pad, so if used as a footbrake may make noise and give off dust. We find they're noisy only when used only for slow speed stops, and are quiet again once used properly. As they are sintered metal, they need to be handled carefully. Pad edge roughness is normal.
