    Hi all,

Ive just bought a Toyota Starlet KP60 rolling shell it was originally running a cosworth Seirra engine and gearbox until the engine thru a rod.

So the car is basically a polly rod conversion polly rod arches ford Atlas LSD rear axle Escort front bilstien coil overs TCAs anti roll bar and brakes.

Im undecided which engine to fit I dont want to use a Cosworth engine to heavey and expensive allready I have one in a p100 pickup and thats just blown a piston as well:cry:

I was thinking of using an SR20 DET from an s14 I know the engines really well because I alos have a Pulsar GTI-R but my main concern is the length of the gearbox the gear lever will come out past the hand brake.

Ive seen the above done but I dont really want to cut the floor and bulk head around to much.

Has anyone fitted and SR20 on a type 9 ford box or cosworth box??

Failing that I may go for a vauxhall red top on the ford box.

Or is there an adaptor plate for a ford box for any of the toyota engines??

    Advice and sugestions welcome.

    Thanks

    Pics of the car below:

It would be fairly simple just to make a linkage to put the shifter where you like no? a 300bhp SR in that would be epic... its cool as fuck!!!

Could be a good idea with the linkage. 300 bhp isnt to difficult from an sr20.
Im going to look into the linkage idea. If I go this route I will just buy a complete s14 to do the transplant.

    Sorry mate its not forsale.

I just aquired a Tuned Toyota 4AG and AE86 gearbox for it (decided against the SR20 route when these came up)

I intend using it next year.

No never been a tarmac oval car, was built for road use with a yb turbo in it, engine and box removed for another project and rolloing shell sold on, has lived all it's life up until 4 months ago in and around Fife, still has the two local lady owners in the log book.

I bought the car from a guy over at Santa pod (Steve I think) hes on here and runs one of the drifting schools and Brands I believe.

The story I got was the YB thru a rod ??

Be interesting to speak with the original builder car has had very little use since original build.

The V5 is in my name.

Ive just got to get some jobs finished on my GTI-R which is sold and this will be getting pushed in the workshop for the engine fit and a lot of other mods.

    Heres the engine

Its running Escort Mk2 cross member rack TCA's and coil overs and brakes. Rear end is Capri Atlas Axle with LSD and 4 link.

The spare wheel has been removed and there is now an under floor alloy race fuel tank fitted.

It has a full SD cage already fitted.

Its getting rear disc conversion hydraulic pedal box hydraulic hand brake along with the 4AGE on carbs and Megajolt ignition and a AE86 gearbox Im also considering some pespex windows to keep the whieght down.

Im looking for some more 13x10 or 8x10 wheels with Ford 4x108 PCD

haha the net is rather crazy, my dad built that starlet for his friend, he originaly had an agra tuned fiat 2ltr twincam engine in it until i blew him off in my 1.9 gti lol, then he wanted the cosworth engine in it which was 380bhp odds to make sure there was no repeat performance.

The car was sold on to a few local blokes as he split up with his wife (i know the other 2 guys who had it too), it originaly had a spoiler on it not sure where thats went, and revolution wheels.

We hunted high and low for a solid shell and found a minted gold one some old bloke or women had (can't remember exactly), the kit is as you say a polley sport starlet kit which is fitted to hotrods that race on short ovals, you should still be able to get them as it needs the spoiler to set it off.

It used to sit pretty low to the ground as my old man used capri bilstiens struts, which get the spring locators cut of and a coilover kit added to them, i'm 100% the struts hubs and brakes on the front were capris, i can always ask my dad what he put on it.

Unsure all whats on it now as the guy i knew who last had it was a car breaker. he did tell me someone bought if for drifting which i thought was a bit of a waste lol.

The car did spend a lot of time in the garage and around my dads house, as hes a long distance lorry driver and did the work at the weekends, with the 2 engine conversions and even when the cosworth was fitted it did still spend most of its time in the garage sitting idle.

Hope you get it back to its former glory, i dont even think i have pics of how it used to look.

I could have bought it and i wished i had done now as i had my own idea of how it should look, i spotted the pics after looking for somthing else on google lol.
