Why don't you try and work out where is comfortable, then weigh that up about what will make it a tidy install (if you're worried about such things) then go from there?

just remember if you mount it against the side of the transmission tunnel so it is parallel with the tunnel you will also put the bar under transverse load. What i mean by that is, you won't pull it in a perfectly parallel direction, you will pull it towards you on a diagonal.
This means that if your lever is made out of alloy or cheese it will possibly bend.

I know this because thats exactly what Joe did until he got a stronger bar in its place (he did punch a 901 on an arcade punching machine though).

If you mount it on top of the transmission tunnel at an angle then its less likely, although not impossible.

Do you actually know that having it up high, and so close to the wheel, is convenient for you?

There are shit thin ally levers that bend 'if you don't have a straight pull' (Actually they bend anyway.) But as above. Drive along, imagine yourself going for the handbrake, then work out how to mount it there.

^^ yea thats what i done.
i wanted mine low so i could snatch it from the gear lever, less travel time from gearstick and steering wheel the better.
sits just about right for a straight pull to :)

bolted mine to the transmission tunnel in line with my arm, cut the gubbins out of the centre console, velcro'd the armrest lid back on and put it over to cover the master cylinder up

ours is where the cd player sits, comes staright up out the hole were the cage should be. don't have pics but will get one next time i see the car. perfectly located next to the wheel in easy reach and no chance of tapping wipers etc. at a good angle to get a proper pull on it to. just need a bit of ally to cover it up and make it look pretty

exactly same position as dros, only rhd ;)

When not in use, it gets moved up a peg, then its out of the way for normal driving.
