Hi. I need to remove my quarter glass on my 200SX S13 for paint. But is it possible to do my myself? Ive asked the local company, and they wanted 5700DKR (675£) for uninstall and install of the 2 quarter windows. And this is without any guarantee that the glass wont break. So im thinking if me and my friends can do it ourselves.
Not too difficult. you'll need some wire, the proper kind you take windscreens out with, and something thin and sharp. Poke a hole through the adhesive and thread the wire inside the car to your friend, then just pull it along to cut the adhesive. There is a plastic dowel plug there too, but we didn't find that out till we cut through it with the wire.
Take the moulding off first And if you have a heat gun or hairdryer handy, heat up the glass from the inside before using the windscreen wire. Makes it go through it like butter
