    My Ke70 DeluXe

Here's the car remplacing my AE86,

    It's a Facelift KE70 Dx with the 4K engine....

Right now, it remains stock till I've decided if I'll keep it for daily or something else....

The only thing I've done is to change the wheels and put a nardi steering wheel.

    Front : Work Equip 01 7x14 offset -2
    Rear : Konig Rewind 7x14 offset -9
    Tyres : 185/55x14 H Nexen

thats a nice one mate, glad you finally got one. I did notice you found on on [AEU86] EU AE86 community :: Home.

Its a shame your keeping it as is, as its very near perfection (KE wise!) :D

Heres a qick photoshop (dont laugh at my skills! :D)

    DSCF1105-1.
lose the ride height and the rubbing strips, paint door tops satin black and get rid of the exhaust tailpipe extension and your on to a sure fire winner!

I quite like the flater fronts with a Early Zenki Levin spiltter too....

Yes, I need serious time on them to make em look half decent, I did that one while eating a muffin! :D

And, the Konigs look ok but I think that there not really a modern design as there copies of the Watanabe 8 spokes really! Matt black them for the ultimate Jap KE70 look like on 95% of the photos I have of KE's! :D

This is still my fav KE and its a shit pic too. Love it in this shot (only shot I have)

    ke70.

and Dolly, lose the rear mudflaps too (IMO)

Thanks Adam, but dont worry!! Like I said it remains stock just for now,

I'll wait to got all the parts I need to begin the mod (strips will be removed, chrome bumper added, early rear lights, hope to get a front splitter too, and obviously the chassis tune (lowering, camber plate///)...)

But I won't touch it since then But I'm very happy cause it's rust free and very clean

But your photoshop is near of the kind of mod I want to Do...

Just a question : Is it possible to fit the Quad Round lights since it's a zenki model??

    Hey Dolly

    I am afraid not,

Your later version of teh KE70 is a better base to run the ae86 running gear as some of the suspension compoets are more similar to a ae86 (like front suspension top mounts) as mine (early KE70) has more to share with a KP Starlet in this area.

As for the bumpers/twin head lights you WILL NEED the complete front end off a EARLY KE. So you would need wings, bonnet, front panel, headlights and grill (maybe even the slam panel but I am pretty sure that you dont) but you also have to remeber that the front wings on the early and late KE's have different indents for the bumper ends, so you could make a chrome bumper fit on the fron but you WILL NEED the bumper brackets too.

And if you put the chrome bumper on the rear of yours you need to use your current rear bracket as the bumpers bolt completly different on the later KE's (much like a AE86 - through the boot floor) but the early KE's bolt fron under the car with 4x bolts.

    look at pics

    my EARLY KE...

    DSC00328.

Note that the bumper bolt through the slit holes...

    Later KE...
    DSC00114.

Note the bumper holes are square and the bolts are accessed through the boot floor like a AE86.
And even then the JDM lights wont fit perfect as the front panel need slightly modding as the twin lights are slightly deeper.

If it was my car, I would keep it like it is as its ALOT of hassle unless you have a donor car there to take all the parts from. :)

Oh, and if I had your car, I would just strip down the bumpers you have and get them chromed as they look great aswell chromed. Be a little different to the normal KE's! :D

Later KE's can look cool too if done right. :)

Right now I can't lower more the rear since I'm already using short spring (I have to cut it a bit) Front is at the maximum so ;)

Just a question, Since front is too much lowered, I have some suspension trouble!! (rebound...)

So could I use AE92 koni yellow damper for doing a short strut conversion?? Or Do I have to use TRD or Tokico models??

    Thanks
