    evening ladies.

iv run a few serches on the site about the conversion, and iv got the general idea of what i need and whats gota be done, its just, im new to these cars so i dont have a clue about prices of parts.

im after an estimate of the costs involved for an ato to manual conversion if i where to do it myself, and another for ifwhere to get a garage to do it or one of you lot to do it for/ with.

im very near to birmingham as a refferance.

    Thanks

    Brad.

top man, do you have any idea of where to get all the bits i need? are there any specialised breakers around?

iv not got the car YET so im just trying to get an idea of costs so i dont spend all my money on an auto and not have enough left to do the conversion (Auto's are filth, scum of the earth)

For Sale section of the SXOC. Manual boxes are between £300 & £450 in my experience, clutch is however much you want to pay for it but say £150+ for a second-hand one in decent nick, clutch pedal is £20 if you find someone decent, clutch master & slave cylinders £50 for both, possibly a braided line to go between them, another £35.

Just remember that the auto loom has to be rewired to take the manual box & the ECU might have to be a manual one too; I had a PowerFC when I did my auto-to-manual conversion so not sure if the auto ECU will work with a manual but I suspect it won't.

if you havnt got the car yet, why not just buy a manual to start with??? the difference in price wont be much and it dosnt look like a cheap conversion even if you do the work yourself.

Depends on how well you keep your eyes open but autos can be hand for mega cheap.

On a side note i have everything to do the conversion sitting in my garage, its for sale to.

    cheers guys.

iv been looking around for cars and it seems the only ones in nice standard-ish nick and low miles that fall into my price range are autos, and being an auto car, they are "usually" well treated and have had easy lives.
