    this needs updated...

Been a mental few months, new job, baby, house, college.... so ive just not had time to even go online but i managed to get plenty done to the car.

    here's little grumpy face

after Driftland opening day I noticed the clutch wasn't feeling quite so sharp, the alignment was completely fucked and the car just felt generally abused. I set to work collecting the parts I needed to fix everything and as much as possible do things in big chunks to minimise downtime.

Picked up a 4.1 ratio skyboat diff
    [IMG]

intake parts, hks 100mm diameter filter, Q45, pipe, silicone, etc. got the SARD 550cc injectors that cae with the car to put back in also (everything was changed back when i switched from DE to DET ignition back to stock where possible)

Second hand but not used 2 Kaaz 2 way for the 4.1 ratio diff
    [IMG]

    Minty Fresh team paint
    [IMG]

    30mm spacers
    [IMG]

driftworks superfly and act clutch (the 4 puck one)

Then we met up on one cold ass night up the touge
    [IMG]

    after that night...

the exedy paddle died a death
    [IMG]

and as suspected the flywheel was fucked as well . the pics don't show how bad it really was...

with the clutch fitted, i figured id take out that clutch damper heap of shit. I tried but the nuts on the thing were made from cheese or something, they almost rounded off with little torque so as not to go to far I aborted this until I got a pipe flare tool.

Next was the diff, this was something I was dreading due to the shimming involved but it couldnt have been easier!

These bolts were a total cunt. cue badman air tools!

All torqued, assembled and shimmed to spec. took about 2 hours all in
    [IMG]

Once the weather cleared i went to fit the sards, q45 and get it mapped

This is the Q45 ready to be wired to a new plug and an air filter adapter which i designed at work. fits like a glove :)

    all went well until
    [IMG]

FFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! totally forgot id changed the injector loom to fit oem ones. fuck. so that ended the mapping... ordered up a set for the grand sum of £6.... its always the little things that set you back with shit like this! plan to get it mapped next weekend finally weather providing.

After the clusterfuck that the mapping was due to me being an epic spaz the diff swap was piss
    [IMG]

it got pretty messy after that last shot but took it for a spin to break in the diff following the figure of 8 instructions and swapped out the cheap oil for decent stuff. WOW firs impressions were very positive, much more alive feeling with the new ratio and the handling while just driving on back roads improved massively over the welder. cant wait to test it properly on track.

    then

jobs to do were fill all the dents, repair the aero again, fit new driver side door and fill the boot brake light and a few other bits and pieces

carbon before quick hand polish to see if it was worth saving or painting over
    [IMG]

    great success
    [IMG]

downsize in tyre from 225/40 to 215/35 18"

some green LED strips. Ebay china is boss.

    as it stood before paint
    [IMG]

I managed to sort the alignment for now (set the front toe to 0*) but once I move into the new house I'll have a level garage to set the alignment myself using the string method which is a pain to set correctly but impotently costs fuck all

    New colour looks fucking sweet.
There must be something in the water up there because you guys are killing it!

The Enkei splits are "Racing S" at the front and "RS Evolution" at the rear. I have a set of the former for my R32 and have had a set of each on my vr4's in the past.
