Few more pics of the more or less finished frame, the engine and box have now been removed from it. Some weighing has also been done, both of just the frame and the frme with engine, box, back axle, and the steel tub on it. Anyone want to know the outcome?
truely awesome build bud, your dad has been filling me in on progress but words cant describe the amount of thinking and effort going into this project.
This looks amazing, not even through 1st page yet, gona read rest when I'm not at work!! Will be a handfull when done!
holy mother of jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man your dad is tallented fabricator!!! just 1 question-why did you not do the complete chassis in tube? amazing build ,so going to keep an eye on this1.
Cheers for all the positive comments lads! There has been a few more bits and pieces done to it but not much of late as it has taken a bit of a back seat as we are building a MK2 escort 4 door with a SR20 for a bit of fun! Cheers man, what do you mean by the whole chassis? Do you mean like the subframes aswell?
yeah your main chassis rails you did in box! just thought you may have done it all in tube! still a savage build
Box is stronger against bending which is the primary load on the rails Which is why I asked the question earlier on as to why the rails are square rather rectangular, which would be stronger.
